Did you try Fort Worth Pediatrics? They are located on Merrimac off University by the zoo. We went to Julie Crawford for 14 years before we moved. She was great. There are four other doctors in there all of which we've seen. We had good experiences with all. Good luck!

The rules might have changed, but when I had my first, five and a half years ago, the doctor I wanted for my daughter told me that they weren't accepting new medicaid patients. However, he also explained a loophole to me. If a doctor sees your child in the hospital, you are automatically considered a new patient in the practice, you're "born into it," per se. You can tell the hospital the name of the pediatrician you'd like to see your baby and they will accept her insurance...that is, if they accept medicaid at all, actually. Some offices will not accept medicaid, but if they do and are just not taking new patients this is a good way to get in anyway:).

Go to the office you would like and schedule a pediatrician interview. Come with lots of questions and you'll have the doctor's undivided attention. Ask if he/she would mind if you requested them at the hospital.

Best of luck and congrats on your new little one!!!

Where are you having your child? *hospital*. At the hospital my son was born, the ped that saw him there had his own office and that is where they wanted to see him on his 2 week visit. *think 2 week*. Otherwise, call cook's childrens *there are clinics over the city*, as well as unt clinic on *dang the name of the street escapes me**it is one exit east of the hulen exit on 30.* Also, do you have amerigroup or cooks as your medicaid plan. The plan your on will be assigned to your child. My daughter has her ped at unt, my son with cook's children...the dr he saw in the hospital and his own clinic...did not work out for urgent care.
