You can also try overstock.com. It's an online shoppers dream! I just bought a 2" Serta memory foam mattress topper. About $85 with tax, shipping, etc.
I have bought several of these over the last couple of years for family, etc.

Hello Mamas-
I am looking for some feedback on the "Memory Foam mattress toppers" All feedback will be helpful. I'm tired of waking up achey and sore from our current bed. I am hoping that a mattress topper will make a positive difference for us.
Thanks in advance!
Okay Ladies- Thanks for all the feedback! I bought one at Costco today and can't wait to go to bed tonight. I bought a regular foam topper from Target today too! My plan is to layer the foam ( egg crate style) one under the MF from Costco for extra support. Also I splurged on MF pillows from Kohls. YAY!
I hope it makes a positive difference.
Thanks again!!!!!

Hi E.C.
I think anything that helps support the back while sleeping would be good to use.
Here are some web sites:

Hope this helps. D.
Tuesday Morning sells them and they are great! We have one on our bed and my husband and I love it! My daughter is begging for her own!
Great quality and comfort and price!
Hi EC,
Hope that tonight goes well. If you find you are still stiff and sore in the morning, please be sure to check out this website with info on various sleep technologies. This sleep system changed my life - horrible insomnia and arthritis pain kept me awake. Sleep Center Technologies http://www.nikken.com/sleepcenter/ Let me know if you have any questions.
Take care,
S.
Love it, love it, love it! We have a good Sealy Posturepedic mattress and box spring, but I was waking up every night with back pain and I just couldn't stand it anymore. I didn't want to invest a bunch of money in a new mattress when ours was still in great shape, and not that old, so we bought a 3 or 4" (can't remember exactly) memory foam mattress topper from Costco for about $140 when it was on sale (had a coupon) and I just LOVE it! In fact, everyone who's slept on it loved it (daughter, son, friend who stayed over to watch kids when we went out of town), EXCEPT MY HUSBAND. Be forewarned, my husband is liking it better now, but it took him MONTHS to get used to it and he would wake up aching when we first got it. He said he had problems when he would try to turn over. He would always wake up 'cause it's very cushy and it takes some effort to turn over on one. Also, it seems much warmer with it on the bed. I'm pretty much a one side sleeper so I don't do a lot of tossing and turning. It's better for those types of sleepers. If you like to switch positions a lot in your sleep like my husband, you may not like it as much. And in general, several couples I know had similar experiences where the wife loved it and the husband hated it. I even knew of a couple who had to cut it in half so the husband could be without it while the wife still used it. My husband is loving it now. He's gotten used to it and now thinks it's very comfortable. It's so nice to crawl into our cushy comfortable bed, especially when we put our really good 600 thread count sateen sheets on it. It feels better than a 5-star hotel bed.
Good luck!
We LOVE ours and got my M. one for Christmas, who loves hers, too! She even ordered one for a family member who has pain, and they love it, too. We have the 1.5" and can really tell the difference, even when staying at 4-star hotels. (No lie!) We always look forward to being in our own bed, thanks to the memory foam. (Sorry this sounds like an "info-mercial". lol)
Just FYI...we got ours online, at Overstock.com for a great deal and still only paid the $2 shipping. It was definitely worth it! Best wishes, and I hope you enjoy your sleep more with it! :)
We have one. My DH loves it. I'm not a huge fan, but can deal with it. I like a firmer bed - if it's too soft my back hurts. And the memory foam just makes it softer. And I hate that I wake up in a sweat because it swallows you up. DH swears by it though. He says that he sleeps so much better.
We love ours! I'd been having some back issues so we initially looked at the Tempopedic mattresses at Brookstone, but they are just ssssooo expensive. Also, our mattress is not that old so we hated to get rid of it. We were at Costco shopping about a year ago, saw the mattress toppers on sale and figured we'd give it try. It's been great and has tremendously helped my back problems. Like others have said, my husband is not the biggest fan of it, but everyone else that has ever laid in our bed thinks it's awesome. It does make you a little warmer and sometimes even sweat a little, esp if you toss & turn a lot. To me, it's totally worth it though b/c I feel so much better when I wake up in the morning.
Good luck!!
We don't have memory foam on our mattress but we had a mattress that had no puffy stuff on top and I woke up really achy every morning. What we did was buy a featherbed that lays over the mattress and I have had no problems since.
It definitely isn’t a permanent fix but we had really good luck with the one that we bought for over 2 years! In fact, it was total heaven at first. I’ve had friends that had similar luck with theirs as well. I think they bought theirs at Sam’s and we bought ours on clearance at Wally.
You're doing the right thing with the layering. Much cheaper that way. If you have a sweaty problem, put a feather (or feather alternate) topper on top of the memory foam layer. Softest bed ever and no sweating. Costco has a topper that has MF on one side and a soft polyester something on the other side. I have a pillow from there with that combo and it's the best pillow I've ever had.
I know this is "closed" already, but I did want to add for any future readers who might like thicker mattresses: I'm the same way, and having a topper doesn't actually diminish the firmness of the mattress. It just makes it feel softer so you are cushioned, but you still have the firm support underneath. We used one previously, then got a new mattress, but I have to get another topper because my mattress is a bit TOO firm and sort of pokes and prods me when I sleep. NOT comfortable, though it alleviated my sciatica, so go figure. In other words, you can have the best of both worlds with a firm mattress and a soft topper.
Hello, EC,
I know this is closed and that you have already purchased the "memory foam". (You can return it...) The chemicals utilized in producing the memory foam are extremely toxic. The off-gassing and other problems you may have in the future asscociated with this product may be something you want to reconsider.
My very best,
T.
I know you have already purchased a foam topper, but if you go to consumer reports they say that the only one that works has to be 4 inches high and those are expensive. 3 inches are okay (from personal experience) but the 4 inches make every difference in the world. Can get them cheapest at Overstock.com. Hope you sleep well.
Hey, I know I am a little late, but I did want to mention something. For a few days after we got our Memory Foam topper my hubby and I were a little achy just getting used to the new bedding. After those first few days though it was GREAT!!!!!!!!! Just wanted to warn you so you wouldn't be dissapointed. HTH!!!
I too, have had a MF topper for at least 5 yrs. It did help a too firm mattress, but it is a devil to make! Trying to find a sheet with deep enough pockets- and then you PULL. Maybe we need a new topper, now that I am reading the responses, and have never been hot.
Hello, this may work wonderful for you! I hope that it does! But... i bought a memory foam topper ( a good one) and it took awhile but i threw my back out! I couln't believe it was the topper, becayse I heard so many good things about it. but every night my back got worse until I couldn't walk. I need a very firm mattress. So i took it off my bed, and waited for my back to get better, after it did (a long time after because I didn't want to aggrivate an existing condition) I put it back on my bed, and after just one night , my back was out! I took it off, gave it away, and never looked back! I paid about $160 for a queen size and it was on sale if i remember correctly! I made sure it had that NASA, symbol on it too! Hope yours works for you, but if you start waking up with a back ache take it off right a way, don't waittill you can't walk like i did.!
Would you please let me know if this helps as I also wake up achy and sore every morning.
Hi EC, This response is late also, but thought it still might be helpful. My husband and I bought a memory foam mattress as I had sleep problems. I just wanted to let you know that it took us quite awhile to get used to the mattress. In fact, my husband, who can fall asleep in minutes and anywhere he lays his head (think tent camping, floors, any couch, ANYWHERE) had a hard time getting used to the mattress. It took maybe a month or so for him. Now, he can't wait to get back from a business trip to get into his own bed.
Hope it works for you. In health, D.
