Hi. I am looking for a midwife in the Tampa area that would be able to deliver me at a hospital and possibly work in doctor's office. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What can I do next?

They don't deliver at the hospital but I had my son with the midwives at Labor of Love birth center in Lutz. Call and set up an appointment to see the office and speak with the staff. ###-###-#### I absolutely recommend them!

Ditto Carla. The name of the midwife group is Women's Health Care. They have an office in one of the buildings next to TGH. Great care!

I triple the suggestion of Women's Health Care. I had a VBAC with them at TGH and had a very good experience. I also like Labor of Love if you are comfortable with an out of hospital experience.

E. Wehle is a certified nurse-midwife. She is awesome! She is a part of a group of midwives consisting of Mary O'Meara (sp?). Her group only delivers at Tampa General, I believe. I don't think there is an OB doctor in their office, however, they work closely with the MD's at TGH if a problem should arise. UCH & St. Joes don't allow midwives to come to their hospitals. Good luck!
