For both of my babies, it was constant irritability/colic. Once milk was eliminated we were doing fine. In a couple months, slowly introduce it back into your diet and see how it goes.

You can test for sensitivity by avoiding all dairy in your diet and see if your infant does better.

My granddaughter had a milk protein allergy and she spit up all the time including projectile vomiting. She was also gassy and fussed/cried alot.

I saw your questionl ast night, but was just too tired to concentrate I'm sorry. My son was not breastfed, but he did have a milk sensitivity. Constant gas, fussiness, he was REALLY constipated, projectile vomiting, crying for an hour after a bottle. He was fine with a soy formula, thank goodness.

My daughter was strictly breastfed and had a true milk protein and soy allergy. We noticed it when she was around 2 weeks old only. Instead of the yellow seedy poops a breastfed baby should have she had green foamy (literally foamy) ones or ones that were full of mucous and blood. She had a rash on her face 24/7 (we thought it was baby acne,) failure to gain weight. I finally went to talk to the nurses up on the Labor and Delivery because I had not planned to breastfeed (so glad I did,) just express and bottlefeed. I will never forget how helpful one was. We changed my diet completley to get all milk and soy out of my diet, and it helped a lot. It was not easy and I got frustrated because it seemed like I couldn't eat anything but salad and fruit, but it was worth it.

I believe my daughter is milk sensitive... we are currently fighting with the daycare over it too. My daughter was not breastfed but her symptoms were *constant* mucous production leading to TONS of secondary ear infections, pink eye, etc.. I finally found an allergist (i believed they were allergies) who knew what he was doing and he told us to take her off the milk until Oct 14. She is doing so much better.. but just a heads up if your baby is allergic/sensitive - Milk is in EVERYTHING (well, a lot).. this website will help clarify if you need it..her pediatrician gave it to me

Good luck.. it can be a struggle but it can be done :)

My daughter had horrible eczema.
She has a bonafide milk protein allergy. A friend of mine has a daughter with a milk protein allergy also and her daughter projectile vomitted as an infant. Other symptoms can be bullseye red ring around the anus or
Gastrointestinal upset. Good luck!
