Are there any organizations that anyone would know of that would assist me in getting some of the necessities needed for my baby like clothing and pampers and other items and also some parenting classes .All help would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Congrats on your pregnancy! Just a few other things I didn't see mentioned below. When you leave the hospital you usually get a starter kit of diapers, wipes and formula. Always ask for a sample of formula or meds when at the Pediatricians office. They have a huge stash of stuff that they get for free from drug reps, etc. Also, the YMCA in East Cobb is collecting baby items right now. I'm not sure how they are dispersing these items or if all Y's are collecting these things. Maybe giving them a call will get you more info. Good luck and keep smiling...you and your baby are in for some fun! :-)

Way to go for trying to make the best of the situation and doing what is best for the new baby. We have the Pregnancy Resource Center on Chapel Hill Rd in Douglasville. They can assist you with all of that - give them a call or stop by. Good Luck and my prayers are with you and the baby

Northside Hospital has a program called Mother's first and has many free classes. Not sure where you are delivering but I bet your hospital does as well. Are you having a boy do you know? I would be happy to donate some boy newborn clothing to you. Also sign up for the similac and emfamil baby club. They will send you free samples of formula and regular coupons ($5+ usually)

In Austell there is a program called CAMP on Veterans Memorial in the industrial Park on the Cobb Douglas line that has a clothing closet which might have sme items you need. They also have resources available that might be of help also. The Pregenancy Resource Center in Douglasville is also great.

We have a wonderful non profit organization in Douglasville on Chaptel Hill Road. It is the Pregnancy Resource Center. You take classes and earn "Mommy" dollars to purchase the items you need at their store at reduced costs to you. It is for our young at risk mothers who need additional support. When your baby is born, the State provides a child support service where you apply and the State will file for child support for the baby for you so that the Father will contribute toward your child's needs. An office is located in each county under DHR. In Douglasville it is on Doris Road behind Chic-fil-a on Fairburn Road. On line Freecycle may be a place to get many items. Yard sales are also a good source. There are many consignment shops around as well. Motherhood is wonderful, terrifying and hard. Building a support system will help you and your child. Good luck.
