I have stopped my baby from receiving her shots. I didnt like the bad reaction from her two month old visit. She is 9 months and I think that maybe she might be ready now. Anybody have any experienc with getting a child vaccinated late. Any thing I should know before I proceed?

What can I do next?

I think the best course of action at this point is to read about vaccinations in general. I don't vaccinate at all b/c I don't think they are safe or effective. The book "A Shot In the Dark" or Gary Null's White paper on vaccines. There is a lot of controversy surrounding vaccinations.

I think it is a bad decision to prevent your child from getting the appropriate vaccinations. Especially at such a young age when exposure to any of the pathogens they are supposed to be protected from they are so susceptible to coming in contact with. I assure you that as a child you had the same reactions to shots that your child and my child and every child does. It is normal, but measles and mumps and rubella and rheumatic fever are much worse than any reaction a baby has to a shot so you had better get it taken care of. Some of the shots are in a series of three or four different shots and if your child is behind it needs to be done or by the time they have to go to school they'll have to get a lot more shots than the other kids just to be allowed in school at all.

S. and Gwen.I also am weary(sp?) on vaccines, but how do you plan to get your child into school without them. Aren't they required? I even needed it to get into college...
My son his also off on his vaccines by a couple months, but now he's getting back on schedule according to his ped.

Hi S.

The only thing that I can tell you is that is going to hurt them just as much as you. Because what ever vaccinations you didn't give, the doc will have to give them all together. That means if she is missing 4 shots, she will get the 4 shot that day. Which will hurt alot. 1 each arm and l in each leg. Your child will be more upset because now her arms and legs hurt. So ahead of time buy a pain relief medicine so she can sleep it off. good luck
