Hi there. I put in a request for info on alternative vaccinations practices and was happy to get responses from like-minded moms.

I am wandering if there are any social groups for mom's who share my beliefs in terms of a more reasonable vaccination schedule and homeopathic approach to babies?

I live in LA, and would like to socialize with such wonderful moms and babies!

Hi A.-

I think you would enjoy a babywearing group. They teach you the very best way to use a sling, mei tai, ergo, etc- it is amazing and taught me everything i knew! you can even go when you're pregnant to get an idea of what to buy.

Anyway, a lot of babywearing moms are also breastfeeding and open to alternative vaccination schedules.

Check out:

Once you join you'll find out about the various meetings; I think they have meetings in Arcadia, Silverlake, somewhere on the westside- on a rotating basis.

I haven't found a free one yet, but would love to get one together!

I joined a yahoo group called WestLAAP. It's an attachment parenting group that is also into natural living/medicine. They have get togethers from time to time.

You can join RIE parent/child awareness classes:

www.harisriestudio.com

Or take a mommy & me yoga class:

www.theyogamoms.com

www.santamonicayoga.com

www.miniyogis.com

www.yomamayoga.com

www.poweryoga.com

I highly suggest taking pre-natal yoga now. It's gentle and wonderful and easy enough for a beginner. It's also really nice if you can start establishing some connections with other expecting moms. Two of my daughter's best friends are babies whose mothers I met before our children were born!
