"Moms Day Out" Programs in Bloomington, MN Area.

I have a sister in Woodbury who brings her child to a “Moms Day Out” program. It is a program where she signs up for 1-day per week and it runs approx. 5 hours. Similar to a very PT daycare. She pays approx. $26 dollars, so it is much more reasonable than a PT daycare program. The perk is that it is for children 16+ months vs. the normal preschool age child.

The YMCA In Woodbury hosts a similar program and allows for 2 days per week, but this is not offered in Bloomington.

I have looked and can’t find a similar program in the Bloomington area. I am wondering if anyone else has heard of such a program?

Take a look at http://www.praisenrainbows.com

Children's Praise ‘N Rainbows, or CPR, is an extension of the ministry of Chapel Hill Church in Eagan Minnesota. Children's Praise ‘N Rainbows operates a parents day out program that offers consistent, quality care for babies, toddlers and preschool aged children. Our mission is to provide a safe, caring and fun environment, devoted to each child's spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual strengths. Children's Praise ‘N Rainbows is a program where children are given the opportunity to learn and grow in a fun, Christian environment. CPR uses the Wee Learn Curriculum where kids enjoy story time, learning centers, music, crafts, gym time and more while allowing parents to have time to themselves.

I take my daughter to a MDO type program in Edina - at Gleason and 62. It's called Hugs and Hearts. They take kids from infants through preschool and it's $80/day. The number is ###-###-####. It's not exactly cheap, but she's been very happy there and I had trouble finding other places that would allow only one day.

I tried to respond with just the name of the place, but this website wasn't acknowledging the city for reason...so my apologies. Not sure how close this is to you, but Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church ###-###-####) has a Friday Mornings Out program that is terrifically ran. Its right around the corner from the Zoo! But the cost is a bit higher, its $42 a month.

I'm new to this list so this suggestion may have already been made. When my daughter was younger, I joined KidsPark, a cooperative run by the Macalester Groveland Community Council. It is located in Highland Park and is open to people from outside Highland. They are open on days that school is in session and were affordable and flexible.

Check out a Friday morning out program at A Church on the Corner 35 and Diamond Lake Road. It ran when my kids were little, it may still be there. Good luck. B

hi,
i actually don't have a referral for you on this but i think it sounds like a great idea and would be very interested in hearing what you find out from people. I live in S Mpls, close to bloomington/richfield/edina so if you get any responses for programs around here, would you mind letting me know? I have a 22 month old daughter that I stay at home with so this would be a nice break for me. thanks!

I pay about the same amount as your sister by bringing my toddler to Club Kid in Edina. I drop my 2 older kids off at school in Bloomington and then head to Club Kid about 1-2 days a week with my 2 year old. No reservations, use it when you need it and I love the caregivers there! And my daughter loves it, too!
