Morning/car Sickness

Last pregnancy I got horrible cat sickness. I got stuck in traffic last year and ended up puking in the car. I couldn't go for than 10 mins in a car without feeling horribly sick. Today we're going to visit family over 2 hours away. I already feel sick from my morning sickness but now I know the car sickness wont be helping at all. I have B-Natal's but today they're not helping with the morning sickness. Idk what to do to try to reduce feeling like this. :(

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Can't stay home tonight :( I have some gum that I'll try and crackers and sprite. I'll get those sea band things for the next time I have to travel. Hopefully we don't hit any traffic but its NYC so I doubt that.

Try sea bands (those wrist bands) typically used for motion sickness, eat a small snack before you leave and yet gingerale. Good luck!

Ginger gum, at CVS and possibly other pharmacies. Used it for sea-sickness on a vacation. Works very well, and I found out about it on a pregnancy website :)

I loved those sea sickness bands. You can get them at the drug store which should be open today. My midwife also recommended drinking a little lemonade with Sun Chips. It was the weirdest combo but it really helped. A little lemonade first then some Sun Chips.
I would send your husband out to the drug store to get you some supplies ;)

A wet, cool wash cloth behind your neck.

Do not look at the traffic from the side windows, try to just look ahead.

I had morning sickness every day of my pregnancy, even while in labor. When all else failed, I just threw up and got it over with..

Ugh I know how you feel. I had the same thing, and we just happened to move across the country (4 straight days of driving...) while I was pregnant.

Line an empty oatmeal container or something similar with a grocery bag... Then if you DO get sick you have a no-mess, convenient place to do so.

As for the sickness... Sometimes reading helped me, or listening to music through headphones with my eyes covered.

A friend of mine swore by almonds - lightly salted. Small amounts at a time so the stomach is never empty.

Good luck! I feel your pain!

Or you COULD stay home - if you're going to be miserable, what's the point of puking for 2 hours?

try sniffing a lemon- Worked for me sometimes & if it seems as it's doing nothing poke it with your nails to get the citrus smell.

ginger ale

Must haves (in the car) bottle of water, large cup/bowl & plastic bag- check if there's holes, napkins.

& don't forget to eat- I know with morning sickness it's hard to eat but munch on little things if you can't eat a meal.

With both my girls I had morning sickness- I'd get sick when I ate & when I didn't. In the morning or at night.

-I'd also have a plastic bag in my purse & used when needed. most of the time I'd run to the nearest trash can but at times even that would trigger something, or a grassy area. Sorry TMI but I feel you :)

I hope this will pass if it doesn't I hope you find the tricks you need to help you along the way! Congratulations & good luck on this beautiful journey!!

I kept a big cup and napkins and towel in the car with me at all times. I reclined my seat when I could and turned to my side. I chewed on ginger. Even today, reading while in motion makes me feel sick.

You are in our prayers. Seriously...that is tough. More than almost anything. Try good music. You might try movement...carrying on. There is no cure and you are brave for going!
