I stopped breastfeeding almost 2 months ago and I am gaining weight. I am looking for an affordable Gym in Simi Valley to work on my abs!! I can't look at myself in the mirror anymore.
Do you have any suggestion?

What can I do next?

As far as Gym's go, 24 Hour Fitness and LA Fitness have pretty decent cost programs...but, you have to go in to get their details.

But, since I'm a lazy bones and would not make it to the gym regularly I bought a Balance/Exercise Ball and some of those rubber band things and built myself a workout.

Also, I started taking walks around the neighborhood and going to park and using outside time for my son to get some pushups or situps in.

But, I think one of the keys to maintaining a healthy weight has been calorie counting and portion control. I use www.caloriecount.about.com to track my daily intake and exercise progress.

From these websites I built my own workout...

http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/l/bl_core.htm

Good Luck!

Hello,

I live in Simi Valley and go to Simi Valley workout on Los Angeles and Yosemite.
They have free childcare at certain times of the day. I like to walk everyday with my little one in the stroller.(13 month old)
If you would be interested we can maybe walk together...
If so please send me a private note..

Studies indicate that regular calisthetics (sit-ups, jogging) are still the best way to get into shape, and you can do them anywhere!!!! I have a membership at Oakridge Gym and it's not the cheapest but the daycare is included in the regular price and they have a low start-up fee. I love the classes. Also, they have a toddler play class two days a week. The same thing happened to me when I quit breastfeeding, but I didn't make the effort to back into shape right away like you are and now I'm paying for it. Please, please don't loathe your body. Look in the mirror and admire yourself everyday. Show your daughter how to love yourself. Best Wishes.

A friend of mine is starting a class that looks really good. You can find info under www.gofitgo.com. I have a feeling that'll give you a great abs work-out. From what I understand it's a 16 week class, 5 days a week, from 8:30 - 9:30 the park. The cost I believe is $130.00. I'd like to take it, I just don't know what to do with my little one during that time.

I don't know about afordable, since they all cost about the same... but you could use those 1 month free coupons at each of the gyms before you joic one, then you join the one you want. A friend of mine did that (also in simi) and was happier once she chose a gym because she did her "research" ... and had a free membership for about a year.
