I know this is a mundane question. I know many SAHM's and Dad's watch TV too. I'm interested to find out
I keep a TV or radio on when I'm cleaning the house and doing laundry. I like the background noise. I guess with four boys, you get used to a hum in the house and now they are all in school, it's pretty quiet! Even the dogs are a little confused!
I used to love to watch Kelly and Michael. However, over the last month, I've noticed what I perceive as tension between Michael and Kelly. She used to lean in towards him and laugh with him. Now she seems to 'tolerate' him. Do you think this is over his break up with his long time girlfriend? I love Michael's sense of humor and his "anything goes" attitude.
I used to love Good Morning America too. Lots of changes everywhere.
I still like Rachel Ray. Get a lot of good ideas for meals from her!
Which shows do you like to watch? Is it because of a person or something else.

I have the local news on most mornings. I never really liked talk shows, I always found them kind of condescending.
I will sometimes have the cooking channel or HGTV on in the background, or I will watch some things I have recorded on my DVR.
I watch Fox News in the morning/ afternoon. Other then that I watch whatever is on my DVR. I don't watch a particular person,I just watch to see what's going on in the world.
NPR on the radio.(The Takeaway, Here and Now) Loathe morning shows. Will put on some music or if I'm folding laundry, maybe a dvd or cooking show.
It's a rare day that tv is on during the daytime. Usually watch from 8-10 pm.
I don't watch daytime tv. I am usually helping get the kids up, then off to the gym, then doing some errands, then home and letting my toddler watch something before nap, do some chores, read some book, have my other two kids home from school, off to soccer, homework, dinner, nighttime tv.
IF I watch any tv during the day it's usually whatever I DVR'd from the night before that I didn't have time to watch.

During the day, our TV's are rarely on.
In the early mornings and in middle of night hubby has the financial news on.
As for me, I listen to KISS FM Kidd Kraddick show while I get ready and work in my home office. After they go off the air at 10am I put Pandora on and listen to music.
Around 4, doggie dinner time, we do put the TV back on and it is usually Judge Judy. We love her.

The tv doesn't get turned on until the evening and then we usually watch something on dvd.
When I'm playing hooky from work, I love to watch Rachel Ray and Steve Harvey. But I'm soooo addicted to the court shows...Paternity Court, People's Court, Judge Mathis...
I watch GMA. Then I go to work. Well I watch about half of it. I DVR the rest. Watch it after I get home.
Like you, I like having something on for background noise. I have one daughter, but I grew up with four of us so I don't like the quiet!!
I will watch the Today Show or GMA, no real preference there. I am considering checking out the new View, avoided it like the plague before- there was no view other than a liberal view and that drove me crazy, I should gain political perspective from Whoopi Goldberg? No thanks. :-) I'm a little leary, though.
And I do love Rachel Ray- she has great energy without being overly perky. (no one likes overly perky in the morning!) So yep, that's about it. I like quick stories that I can walk in and out of on my way to the laundry room, in the kitchen, or wherever I'm going in the house. Can't watch an actual 'show' because I can't follow it without sitting there for an hour!
When I had tv, I didn't watch chat tv. If I was home during the day, I watched reruns of shows like Law & Order.
Since we got Netflix streaming, if I'm cleaning up and am here alone, I put on shows that I enjoy but don't have to follow too closely -- it's hard to follow a complex plot when I'm washing dishes! I would rather have on a show or movie I choose (without commercials!) than a chat show where folks are promoting stuff and there are frequent commercials. If we had the Food Network, though, I know I'd check that out a lot. Even the delicious commercials, darn them.
I can't stand daytime TV. It's all mindless drivel. NPR, BBC radio, or music.
When I was a nanny, I had Fox and Friends on until the kids got up and moving...that's still my news talk show. However, for quick stuff I watch my local Fox channel for news in the morning, I love the interactions of the people and enjoy watching them.
When I'm home during the day, I normally put one of the music stations on as I am doing stuff around the house.
I watch Fox and Friends while I am getting dressed in the morning. When I get in the car, I turn the radio on to the local sports station to hear all about how awesome my Houston Texans are! =) I will also listen to BBC or music.
When I get home, I'm watching HGTV or Food Network, Fox News or movies.
I watch CNN news in the morning. Since I am home recovering I have been getting caught up on BONES and CASTLE. I usually watch the Discovery channel and a lot of science programs. Otherwise it is radio in the background when I sew in my "sewing cave".
Talk shows don't hold much interest for me and never have.

I have the tv on in the background too, even if I'm not actively watching it. I used to watch when it was Regis and Kelly and I'll occasionally have Kelly and Micheal on but I usually have it on The Doctors TV. Then there's The View, I'm still trying to decide on the new crew. I never really liked Rose O'Donnell and then she had bare feet on yesterdays show, eww, who wants to see your feet, really? The Meredith Viera show is new and it seems OK so far. I like Rachael Ray too, can't stand the alternative, The Talk.

Once in a great while, I'll put the Today Show on in the nearby room when I'm putting my make up on, but that's about it.
When I'm home & cleaning, I don't have the tv on.

None. NPR on the radio all day. Love it. Always interesting and educational.

I turn on BONES on TNT and listen to it while I do stuff. But I manage some FB pages and am online a LOT so I do watch it too. Castle comes on at 3 and I watch and listen to that too.
I watch Good Morning Washington with my oldest son for breakfast just so we can know what happened overnight and get a good weather report. I can usually get some traffic reports on the days my husband drives into work.
I keep the TV or radio on too. I usually have on HGTV or Investigation Discovery on....it's on low.
I've not watched Kelly & Michael in a long time! Good Morning America is my preference if I'm watching a 'morning' show.
No TV during the day except maybe a few minutes at lunch. I might listen to music or just open the doors and listen to nature.
I find those shows a bit demeaning. I am acutely aware that I'm their target demographic but somehow I feel insulted by them. Don't even get me started on the morning "Mom" commercials aired during that time. Some of them make me feel like I've been transported back to 1956.
