What sorts of things is your daughter interested in? If she's a fashionista wanna be, try doing some tie-dye or decorating tees/ballcaps, etc. or taking up sewing. If she loves books, look into book making (my MIL does this, and it also goes well with card making, stamping, and other paper graphic stuff).

Or, try taking a walk with her down the aisles of Jo Ann's or Michael's (etc), and take a look at some options. Or page through the Oriental Trading Co's website or catalog to see if you can find something you'd both like to do (they have bracelet kits, and all kinds of crafting kits)--these can give you a starting point. Or take a class together at Jo Ann's/Michael's or check out some of the specialty stores (ie, bead stores usually offer various classes; yarn shops usually offer classes, etc.)

My kids and I scrap book together.

Also once a month, on the day nearest to their birthday-day, we go on a Mommy-Daughter date. They get 3-4 uninterrupted hours of mommy and me time. We shop, we go out for dinner, we play games, go for a bike ride etc. No matter how busy our month is, we can always look forward to our date.
My girls are 11 and 14 now, and the dates are more important than ever. It keeps us connected.

Really go to a craft fair NOW is the time, most churches and garden clubs and such put on craft fairs in the fall and see what they have created and see what direction she may want to take no matter what you choose it will be a financial investment so be aware.

I would also recommend Home Depot weekend workshops for kids. They are free and the kids use wood/hammers. Since you're just starting to look, you just never know what direction she'll be fascinated with.

P.S. - I can't stand scrapbooking, and I don't feel like I can tell my girlfriends who sit for hours doing that....

My daughter is 3 now and here are things WE do together:

1. Theater shows (not movites - plays - well she's been to one! LOL)
2. Painting her toenails / fingernails
3. Cooking together - either a recipe I picked out or one she did
4. Dinner together
5. Reading
6. Scrapbooking

Here are some ideas since your daughter is older:

1. Go to a craft store and have her pick out something and do it together.
2. Go on a walk together. It could be a 'scavenger hunt' of some kind that you chose or one you made together.
3. Scrapbooking (but you must like to do this as it's expensive and time consuming - I love it but most of my friends hate to do it!)
4. Go to a book store (or library), get a snack and books and read side by side
5. Get a chapter book (of her choosing) and read a few chapters every night, alternating who reads.
6. Go out to eat (or just out for dessert)
7. Go bowling
8. Go roller skating
9. Check what is free every weekend where you live (concerts, fairs, etc) Take her to that.
10. Give her $5 and go to a Dollar store and try to see who can find the 'coolest' thing
11. Yard sales
12. Bike riding
13. Workout DVDs
14. Painting
15. Cooking (either at a local supermarket where they offer classes or home)
16. Make popcorn and watch her favorite movie or tv show
17. Write a poem or letter together to family member
18. Volunteering
19. Gardening (flowers or food)
