Hi moms. Has anyone seen this yet? If you have can you give me an opinion of what age you think is appropriate? My 7 year old and 4 year old want to see it. I knolw my 7 year old will be fine but I'm not sure if it will be too scary for my 4 year old, especially in 3D. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My 10 year-old daughter, MIL and SIL all went to see it and none of them liked it. Said that there were absolutely NO funny parts and that it was very dry and boring. My daughter was NOT impressed at all and said that she doesn't ever want to see it again. MIL and SIL both agreed that it was NO good.

Just as a reference this is the absolute worst review I have ever gotten from my daughter regarding a movie.

We just saw this the other day. We are not big fans of 3D so we just watched in 2D. My 3 children are 4 months, 3G, and 6B. My 6 and 3 year old both equally enjoyed this movie. In fact, as a parent, I really enjoyed this movie to the point I would add it to our movie collection. I think your children are at an appropriate age for the movie. Depending on how well your 4yo handles movies will depend on if they will do well in the movie. The show isn't really scarey. It just has suspense moments since it is an adventure. My 3 yo did better than my 6 yo but he has always been sensitive to suspense. I recommend this show. It was done really well and I'm sure your children will enjoy it!

I haven't seen it, but my son was really into the Tin Tin books from about age 8 to 12 and he is looking forward to seeing it this weekend (he's 18 now.)
It may actually be boring for a 4 and 7 year old, Tin Tin's adventures include a lot of history and adult themes (one of the characters is actually drunk most of the time!)
Check out commonsensemedia.org, that usually helps me decide when I'm unsure about a movie :)

We saw it and my 10-year-old daughter loved it, but it likely might bore rather than scare your four-year-old. Whether your older child would like it depends on whether he or she likes more grown-up adventure movies or is really looking for a funny kids' cartoon. Someone else posted that their kid found it dry and boring but it's not supposed to be a humorous movie each minute like "The Muppets" or "Puss in Boots." "Tintin" is much more like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" -- constant motion, constant adventure-high-risk setups, not necessarily funny situations but not particularly scary either. The plot, which isn't much but does keep rushing along, may get totally lost for a seven-year-old.

I think I'd skip it for your kids in favor of "The Muppets" or "Arthur Christmas." The latter is slower and has more kid-friendly stuff in it though some kids might also find it too slow; it's more a British-humor kind of funny, if you know what I mean. If your older child has seen the "Wallace and Gromit" videos or movies, then he or she will like "Arthur," which is by the same makers.

let me first say I don't know anything about this movie. haven't seen any commercials etc. but my daughter and I were talking today on the phone and she said she and her 7 year old went to a movie today and walked out. I asked which movie it was and she said tin tin. she was pissed said she paid $25 to see it in 3d and it was the stupidest movie she had ever paid for. they left about half way through. not sure if that helps but there you go lol

We went to see it with my 4 year old. The ovie is very plot/mystery driven and it was way over his head. So, he was a little fidgety during it. The graphics in some of the fight scenes was pretty graphic for an animated film. Of course he loved those parts ;-). He liked it enough to say he wanted to go see it again with my 6 year old, who I know will love it.

Took our 13 10 and 7 year old daughters this week. 13 yr old thought it was great 10 and 7 not so much. On a positive note I thought the animation was amazing. Im not a big fan of violence and thought it had entirely too many guns, swords, etc for little kids
