I had asked about this about a month ago when it first started and no closer to any answers I wanted to ask again hoping I could find someone that has seen this before.
My little girl is extremely light sensitive and her eye roll up mostly when shes tired or out in the sun. She also can no longer lay on her back because her eyes roll back and it hurts her. So far normal EEG, CT, and take home EEG, her MRI show something on her neck and on her tongue but not sure if that is anything yet getting it read tomorrow. Has anyone seen this before? Shes going to see a Neuro ophthalmologist in June that was the fastest we cold get in. Oh and She has already seen an pedi ophthalmologist that specializes in muscular development and her eyes appear fine.

What can I do next?

My husband had surgery when he was little because one of his eyes rolled alot. They ended up determining it was the muscles and they had to weaken them on one side of the eyeball to make the otherside correct.

I hope and pray it is nothing serious for your princess, I know it can be really scarry when they are sick and you aren't getting answers.

We'll pray for you guys,
R.

Hi K..

My son had eye problems beginning at 3 months. He had surgery (right and left) at 4 and 5 months. I am sorry you are having to go down this very scary path. I am glad to see you are getting the right help. You did not say if the opthamologist you saw was a pediatric opthamologist. The developing eye is much different than a mature one and it's very important that you seek the appropriate care. In an effort to see the very best, we saw Dr. David Stager in Plano and he couldn't do the surgery right away so he referred us to Dr. David Hyde in Austin who performed the surgery right away. We LOVED Dr. Hyde. However, Dr. Hyde left the practice (we can't find him) and we began seeing Dr. Lockhart, who is also a great physician. Lonn Bradley Lockhart, MD is at Children's Eye Center 1912 W 35th Street in Austin###-###-#### . I think you are heading in the right direction with the Neuro Opth. but if you need surgery or follow-up care Dr. Lockhart is your guy. I prayed for you and I wish you the best of care during your very scary time.

Hi K.,
I'm so sorry that your little angel is going thru this ordeal. Personally we have never experience this but I do know that it sounds like she may have eye muscle weakness.
You mention that an Ophthalmologist has seen her all ready.
Did the Doctor mention any muscle weakness? I wish you and
your little girl all the best of luck and lots of blessings.
I do believe that we always need second and third medical
opinions...glad to see that you are taking action on this matter.

Lots of blessings,
Elisa M

I am so sorry she is having trouble and the answer isnt known yet. Praying they can see her sooner. I know there are eye exercises you can do to help with a lazy eye...although this does sound different. Have you searched the internet for anything like what you describe? Take a VIDEO recording of it so the doctor can see exactly what is going on. I did this with our dog for the vet that thought it was having seizures. It really helps the doctors see exactly what is going on. If you can e-mail it or if you have a portable battery operated DVD player and can show him. I am sorry I have no further info for you. Blessings.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but just wondering what triggered it, did it start in conjunction with any vaccinations? I would wait on getting any for sure until you get this resolved. I have done years of research and do not vaccinate my children.

K.,
If it is serious, you will be already in the neuro ophthmologist's office. If the reading is artifact or deemed to be irrelevant, you will need to keep on trying to figure it out. It may be that you need a neurologist and not an ophthmologist. Be sure to keep a symptom diary if that is the case so that each and every symptom is available when you see them.
This is frightening and I feel for you and your family. Hope it is quickly resolved.

I've not had experience with the exact type of problem you are encountering, but our daughter also has extremely light sensitive eyes.

Because of problems she had at birth, we started taking her to a pediatric eye specialist when she was 3 - she started wearing glasses when she was 4.

We go to Houston Eye Associates and see Dr. Lei. If you would like to call them and make an appointment for this dr - their appointment line is ###-###-####.

Good luck.....
