My hailey always has what I call "baby stinky feet" her feet sweat a lot I try to keep her feet as dry as possible and put fresh cotton socks on her every day and that helps. It really doesnt bother me much.
My little boy has stinky feet! We bathe him twice a week and I wash just his feet just about every other day, but they always end up smelling like he has been wearing old tennis shoes!!! We have his 4 month check up next week so I am going to ask the doctor then, but was hoping to see if any of you have ever heard of a 4 month old with smelly feet?! ...he wears footed outfits all of the time, but he gets a fresh pair every day! Thanks for any help or ideas you might have!

I would think to powder his feet before you put them in the outfits. I'm curious to see what your doctor says.
It is unusual at this age and reminds me of a hallmark sign of the constitutional homeopathic remedy Silica. Before using something stronger try going to a homeopathic doctor and see what they say perhaps they have a solution!
Also a good natural babypowder would work great too I would think. The calendula oil suggestion is just great! This is great for little scratches and cuts as well!
My son had the same problem. Our doctor told us it was Athletes feet basically. It got to the point he got little sores between his toes. So, we kept his socks off and his feet bare and it got all better. Powder helped too to keep the skin more dry.
i use calendula oil on my babies' stinky feet. It is natural without side effects, is healthy for any skin, and is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and non-drying. Works for us! you can get it at most health food stores, Radiance in Olympia, too. Also- if he can get away with not wearing the footies more often, that will help more than anything. Baby feet need air , too. Esp. in THIS climate!
It sounds like his feet tend to sweat more than normal (my 7 month old's feet and my feet do that too). I would try letting him go barefoot. The feet are very much like the hands and if it's warm enough in your house for his hands to be bare then it's warm enough for his feet to be bare as well. Most of the heat in the body escapes through the head, not through the feet so it's perfectly acceptable to let any baby past the first couple of weeks be barefooted.

"Infants' feet do not have to be protected from the cold nearly as much as some adults think. Babies need no more protection for their feet when crawling on a cold floor than they do for their hands. The reason most adults are concerned about exposing their babies' feet is because they are used to having their own feet always covered and protected, and are not accustomed to a little bit of exposure. Babies actually thrive on it."
I can personally attest to the fact that going barefoot doesn't bother either one of my daughters - they both went barefoot exclusively as infants except when going outside in cold weather. In fact, when I started going barefoot more often, my feet stopped their excessive sweating and seem to be much happier in general.
I love using those one-piece suits without the feet for my younger daughter. Now that she is crawling and moving about on hands and feet, she grips with her toes and plays with her feet, and her feet aren't stinky when they are left bare most of the time!
Best wishes!

I wouldn't worry one bit about it! My son had that same problem and still does at 18 months. His feet are always smelly if he has footed pjs on or socks and shoes. It's normal. Feet sweat and a lack of air can make them stink. I'm sure his doctor will say the same thing. Don't worry!
Dr. Oz was on Oprah recently and his advice was to soak stinky feet in tea. I am sure you can find the details on Oprah.com.
Congatulations on your baby, but when I was a young mother (16) I had bathed my kids every other day. My family said that was too much but my 5 kids were never hurt by it. Are you putting socks on him also?
My daughters feet reeked when she was a baby. My husband and I still joke about it. I never asked a doctor about it, but it may be interesting to hear a dr's response on that question!

Hi I don't know how bad his feet stink but I quite honestly love when my little babies feet stink a little from natural sweat when their babies. I think it's rather sweet & a cute natural smell that they have. You can't always be bathing because it can dry out their skin and cause more irritation as well. They do need some of their natural oils on their skin. You may want to try lotions just made for babies skin with lavender natural scent on it and maybe that would help them smell better or sometimes have no socks on in the home to air out his feet. Good Luck and remember that He doesn't always have to smell perfect because I'm sure we also don't always smell our best at times it's just part of life. Try to relax about it. God Bless, O. O.
