welcome to mamapedia, B.!

Now take your daughter to a pediatric urologist.

Is she breast fed or formula fed?
Metal smell like iron or something else?
How long has this been going on?
Can you smell it through her diaper?

You aren't giving enough information for people to help you.

You can type in Urine Odor Causes under the Mayo Clinic and it will list out reasons why her urine may smell like ammonia (metallic).

But better to talk to another doctor if you're concerned. Or a urologist.

Are you breastfeeding her? Are you keeping a food journal of what YOU eat/drink?
And if she's formula fed well then it might just be that. I remember watching my nephew as a baby and thinking his urine was stinky compared to my breastfed babies (no judgement but it was.)
Of course you can always take her to a urologist if you really believe something is wrong.

You should make an appointment with a specialist....a urologist or pediatric urologist.

I agree about a specialist. While you wait for an appointment, and if your daughter is breastfed, I'd also look at your own diet and see if there is something you should eliminate. Do you have something new that you've been eating a lot of?

If she's formula-fed, look at the container the formula comes in to see if there's anything that can be getting into her. Buy a new container from a different batch (different lot number) and see if things change.

I need more information. Are you breast or bottle feeding? Formula fed babies have NASTY smelling poops and urine. Breast fed babies typically don't, unless the mom eats a lot of cauliflower and broccoli. If you are breast feeding and eating asparagus? That makes ANYONE's urine smell.

Has been been the same for all 4 months of her life? It's possible this is how her urine smells.

If you are that concerned? Take her to a pediatric urologist. Take her to another doctor. Keep a food journal if you are breast feeding and see how her body responds to the different foods. I know from my breast feeding 4 boys that what I ate directly affected how their bowel movements and urine smelled.

Take your daughter to an alternative doctor, such as a functional medicine doctor. Do not ignore this!
