Im just wandering if any of you guys have any suggestions on how to get my 4 month old daughter to sleep at night? She naps during the day but for about an hour or so at a time. My pediatrician says her days and nights are not mixed up but she wont sleep, she either screams or plays in her bed. I need some advice beacuse I have my 3 year old step son during the day and I feel like im not getting any sleep.

What can I do next?

Gave her some Mylicon drops because probably she have gases and that's why she can't sleep because they don't know when is day and night so need to be somthing that bother her and she can't sleep. Also rub her back in case that are gases what she had if not you going to look into something different but my baby used to dont sleep the first 2 month and was because of gases.

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but when my daughter was 7 weeks old I bought one of those side-sleeper positioners for her crib and she's been sleeping through the night ever since. They're like $10 and found at baby stores. I think it's a little more cozy and secure feeling for her when she's on her side. It also makes it so she can't startle herself awake being that she's on her side and her arms aren't able to wave in the air. She will only sleep on her side now too--almost instantly she'll fall asleep. Hope this works for you!

My 3 month old was similar to your daughter but has recently gotten a little better (he is still fussy, somewhat colicy and has acid reflux). These are the exact steps I do before I put him to bed:turn down the lights and tv (so he knows bedtime is coming) feed him, give him a bath, rub the lavender lotion on his legs after (little massage), swaddle him ( I know people say don't swaddle anymore but it's the ONLY ONLY way he'll calm down and not kick around), rock him a little while I'm rubbing his nose until he closes his eyes, lay him in his crib and turn on his vacuam cd ( LOVES the sound of the vacuam).. If he wakes up crying, I'll just pick him back up quickly and rock him for a few more minutes and lay him back down... Over the last 1.5 weeks, he's been sleeping the first half of the night for about 6.5-7 hours straight (which is a miracle from where we came from)...
I UNDERSTAND not sleeping much and I only have one.. It's VERY hard for me to sleep on command, I'm a very light sleeper... Plus Banyan (my son) being colicy (getting better) doesn't help with his need to be constantly held.
I hope this helps somewhat... If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at :

Wow! My son is 4 1/2 months and has had some sleep issues too..but he's my only one so I've been able to catch up on sleep. Is your 4 month-old teething? I let him cry about 5 minutes before intervening...it works for me (well sometimes, but not always)It's called pick up and put down. If he has a full belly and a dry diaper and I see him fighting sleep, I pick him up, calm him and then put him back down. It takes a few times, but it works. I just moved here, so our routine has been whacky. Now that I am getting into a bit of a schedule, he is sleeping better. Hope this helps.
