Go to the library and ask for help in finding books on child development.

There are some that are specific to boys.

Michael Gurian has some excellent books on boys---The Wonder of Boys" and "The Good Son" are two that are good sources.

You can google these titles or look them up on Amazon, and they'll suggest other books on the same topic.

Also, if you're taking your son for his regular well-checks, your pediatrician should be able to address your questions. Usually, there is a hand-out given at each check that notes milestones, expectations, and safety reminders relative to the child's age.

Start there and post again if you have more specific questions.

Google developmental milestones 5 years old.

If you have a question about a specific behavior, just ask it. Otherwise you won't get any real help. All children are different, but some behaviors fall outside the "norm" and may need professional attention.

There's so much that a person could say to describe the behavior of a 5-year-old boy...it would be a lot to write!

Is there something specific you are wondering about?

It would help if you would ask the real question you have. This one is really too broad for people to answer, because we don't know where to start...

You really have to be much more specific. What is it that you want to know? What problems are you observing? There's just no way for anyone to answer this for you at this point. Sorry.
