My 6 Year Old Daughter Keeps Throwing up on the Weekends.

For the 3rd weekend in a row, my daughter has woken up and vomited. I'm trying to pinpoint what is making her stomach upset but I'm not sure-she ate different things each time. After she throws up,( today was only once, the 2nd time was 3 times, and the 1st time it was 7 times) she's absolutely fine. She eats normally, acts normally, and drinks normally. She's not constipated and is having regular bowel movements.
My husband thinks it might be a milk allergy since the 1st time she had eaten pizza and last night she had a milk shake.
I thought it was exhaustion because we have been busy lately, but I'm not sure. Yesterday we relaxed all day at home, went out for dinner, and were home early. She fell asleep on her own watching tv then woke up this morning complaining of a stomach ache. Also this time she said that her burps smelled like puke. I think it sounds like a sour stomach. I got her ginger ale and she's absolutely fine. I don't get it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

So What Happened?

I brought her to the doctor today and come to find out she has strep throat! How weird is that? Step can hide out for a while the doctor said and can cause kids to vomit. Also, my daugher had a virus on top of the strep which was causing the diarrhea and the vomiting this past weekend. She was really glad I brought her in and so am I!
The doctor said that her throat looked a little red so she did a strep test just to make sure and it came back positive.
Nasty little bacteria!
Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.

start writing down what she eats to see if you can make that connection.

routine change maybe? Is there something you do on saturdays that causes her stress? Does she sleep later than during the week? Try keeping her on a schedule all 7 days and see if it makes a difference.

It sounds like acid reflux to me. Try an antacid like Mylanta when she complains of a stomach ache. If that makes the pain go away you have your answer. Good luck

what kind of foods has she been eating?
Keep track of what she is eating and see if you can pinpoint it. Perhaps a common ingredient in the foods?
This was happening with one of my stepchildren when he was with his mother and eating a lot of junk food. He came back to stay with us and after a few weeks of eating very healthy, and monitoring how much he was eating the problem went away.

Is she doing something every weekend that she's maybe stressed about but can't/won't tell you? Like she's in some lesson or sports things she hates or there are kids there she doesn't like? I'd start with the food tracking like others recommended but if that doesn't get you anywhere maybe look for a stress trigger.

Yes, I agree with Patty. Keep a Vomitting Journal (tehehe) so that when you address the issue with your ped, you'll have the answers to the questions he/she's gonna ask. Also, I wonder what your daughter's own impression of the vomitting is?

When my daughter was younger, throwing up was a sign of strep for her (weird, huh?). Apparently, the strep caused her lymph nodes to swell enough to irritate her stomach. Now, mind you, the glands in her neck were never swollen and although she sometimes complained of a sore throat, there were other times when her throat didn't bother her. My sister's son was the same way. Three weekends is a long time for strep to go undiagnosed, but I guess you never know. Also, the same daughter used to throw up if her sinuses or throat were too mucus coated, either from a cold or from allergies.

You've received some good advice from other posters. Maybe just a quick call to your doctor's office would be good. Good luck!
