Hi all. My daughter is going to be 6 March 11th and I will be keeping her out of school that day so that we can have a girls day. I would like to know if anyone knows of a place from coral springs-plantation that specializes in a kids "day at the spa. kind of like mini man and pedi, makeup, hair. Also, I wanted to have her bring a friend but the problem is that it is a school day and i dont know if i would be out of line asking the mom to keep that child out of school for the day, its only kindergarten so i thought it wouldnt be so bad, what are your thoughts?

thank you.

thanks everyone for your responses. I really appreciate the help and have decided to take her and got the ok from her friends mom to play hookie from school and go to Libby Lu in the coral square mall where they will have their hair, makeup, nails, and a bunch of other things done and then take them to her favorite place to eat...Red Lobster for lunch. Im looking forward to it and I know she..they will have a blast!

Hi Carmela,

I take my eleven year old daughter to Sweet and Sassy in Parkland. It's perfect for your daughters age. A spa only for kids. She just her birthday party there and they had a blast. The number is ###-###-####.
I also have a son in kindergarten and see no problem in having a day off from school to have fun.

Enjoy!

I say go for the girls day out with a friend! I did it for my son & for my niece I am raising: and both cherish that birthday-it truly was their day & they got to share it with their friend! It makes the day special! God bless you for such loving plans for your children! Having a mom & daughter day or mom & son only day makes bonding extremely well and memorable for the kids also1 each are special in their own way and they all love to be the sole beneficiary of your attention for a day every so often! I try to do it with my 6 & 3 yr.old nieces on separate days at least once every 2-3 months! Specializing my now 20 yr.old son made him part of the wonderful man he is today! A U.S. Marine fighting for all our freedoms! God bless you all-Enjoy!!!

Carmela,
Sweet & Sassy is a great salon for little girls. It is in Parkland, off of state road 7 just north of Hillsboro blvd.
My girls love it. As far as asking a friend to skip a school day, I don't think I would unless you are close with the mom. I personally would not want to be asked that for my daughter because I would feel bad saying no.

Hi Carmela,
Sounds like you have alot going on in your life, blessings and work! Have you considered having a mommy & me day with just your daughter on the school day. If you can get someone to watch your son on Sat. afternoon for a few hours, then you could invite one or two of her friends for a beauty afternoon on Sat., doing the nails and hairstyles (beaded braids, sparkle gel, sparkly make-up, etc.) at home. Personally I've found that especially when they're little and you've got your hands full, keeping it simple is usually the best, and ends up being the best fun and memories for your child and you. You could order a girly cake from Publix, have her favorite snacks or "lady like" tea sandwiches, fancy paper plates, etc. I bet it would be fun for her to help you pick out a few colors of pretty new nail polish, a hair beading/braiding kit, a packet of sparkly girly-girl temporary tatoos... it will be lots of fun, and probably cost far less than a salon day out. Target has lots of mini kits and sampler-sized kits, along with tons of hair styling goodies. If your house isn't as neat as you'd like: don't even think about it, the kids DO NOT care, and will just be thrilled to enjoy themselves! Good luck however her birthday turns out, hope it is a wonderful day for you both!

I took my daughter to Sweet and Sassy in October for her 7th birthday. It is in Parkland. I live in Coral Springs, and it is close, right on 441. The setting is nice, not crammed and tacky like Libby Lu's in the mall. They do full parties, but we chose to have her just bring two other friends. Since then, we have been back for haircuts, etc. They have a cute little gift shop in there as well. Your daugther can pick out something nice for her birthday. I highly recommend it! They have a website-just google Sweet and Sassy salon.
Enjoy!
