I'd like to look into My Gym or Gymboree for my 7 month old daughter. Can anyone tell me how these two facilities differ? Is one better than the other for a certain age group. Thanks in advance for setting me straight!!

I'm a mom of a 7 month old daughter and 2.5 year old son. I've been taking my son to Gymboree Art and Gymboree classes since June 2007. He really seems to enjoy it from a social point of view. It is challenging to him creatively. The supervised Gymboree classes are great for instructive play classes. Gymboree does a good job, in my opinion with the class structure being the same every visit, but the projects are different. It's a good preschool tool.
We tried My Gym, but we weren't that impressed. I recommend taking advantage of the free class offerings before making your decision.
Good Luck.

Hello J.~

I have only been a member of Gymboree for 2 weeks (my son is going to be 5 months on the 20th) prior to this we did the Mailman Segal Institute’s Class,”Laugh, Play Grow” at Nova (my soon was 7 weeks when we started and it went threw mid dec where he was then 4months). I have to say that hands down I love Gymboree! I was all signed up for this term that started in January with Nova but we went to see Santa over the break where I got the flyer about Gymboree and thought I would give it a try as it is SOOooooO much closer to my Fort Lauderdale home. On the first day we tried Gymboree it was the last day for alot of the moms and babies in that class as they were all moving up to the next class, and can I just tell you they were the most down to earth mommies! So you would be in a class with them!!! Lucky you! I was sad they were moving on as they were such a wealth of info, in just the 45 min I spent with them they gave me some of the most helpful advice! I have not tried My Gym, so I cannot comment on them but again the Coconut Creek Gymboree is great! It is clean and Miss Heather who teaches the class is fun and so upbeat! Give Gymboree a try! You get to do a trial class for free and they are not pushy at all (but you get $20 off if you sign up that day), and you will know it is fun from the smile on your daughters face! I have to wake my son up to go and once he is there he is all calm and quiet just taking it all in! We both really benefit from it!!! I can only give rave reviews for them! If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!!!
Hope this helps…

M.

Hi J.,

I have a 6 month old son and I have been going to the Coconut Creek Gymboree since he was 6 weeks. I LOVE IT! The staff is great and the classes are very stimulating. Next week I will be moving into my 1st level 2 class (because he is now 6 months) and I am really excited about it. If you daughter is 7 months, you will also be in level 2. The session that I attend is Friday at 10:30, but I believe there are several more throughout the week. As far as My Gym, I have not tried it yet because I am very happy with Gymboree. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me :)

As the owner of the Gymboree in Coconut Creek I want to personally invite you to come and try a class for free. I know you and your daughter will love it as much as we do! We have class for her, level 2 (6-10 months) on Tuesday at 10:00, Thursday at 11:00, Friday at 10:30, and Saturday at 11:30. Let me know if you have any questions and what day you want to come in to take your free preview class.
Looking forward to meeting you and your daughter!
