Gabe is 6, (on a 4 year old level due to his autism). My husband said "bull s**t" about a week ago and now Gabe says it several times per day, (like 30 plus times). I tried the baking soda on the tongue that his speech therapist recommended but Gabe doesn't care. I took away baseball from him along with a few other things and he still doesn't care. Any advice please. Thank you in advance.
Thank you all for your advice, it was all great! :-) Since my husband and I can ignore it but my 2 1/2 year old and 4 year old daughters make a big deal out of it we are going to try the hot sauce. Thank you all again. :-)
my son went through something similar he heard me say s#@t and for about 2 weeks he said it over and over then his speech therapist said ignore it act like its no big deal he's doing it for attention and after about 4 or 5 days of ignoring it he stopped so you might want to give that a try good luck!
My 4 yr old daughter has a little potty mouth sometimes and when she says bad words I tell her i'm not going to talk to her until she can speak nicely. Since she loves to talk this works pretty well.
Don't play into it. My 2 1/2 year old has heard and said a few words that we won't mention. I learned real quick with him, that I tell him once that's not a nice word we don't say that and if he keeps on then I put him in his room. The more of a big deal I made out of it, the more he did it.

I did it.Yup! I got out the hot sauce and used it-after that my little girl would spasss-out but it stopped!
