You may feel awkward about the situation, and whose to say I wouldn't feel awkward in the same situation. The thing is though that the boys just know they are friends. I think too often adults try to give children the attitudes that we have rather than letting the children form their own opinions. I mean adults think too much about how things are awkward, or strange and don't allow children to show them that we can all be friends. I grew up with my dad and step-mom. My bio mom was very good friends with my step-mom. I never thought that was weird until I was grown and people gave me weird looks when I talked about my moms. I am thankful that I had both of them there throughout my life. They are still pretty good friends to this day so I know it wasn't "just for the kids." I just think that if we all chose our friends like kids do, and didn't worry about how this is awkward, this world would be a much better place.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. Have a great day.
