Until at least 1 yr, I found two naps worked best (depends on the child). If you do two. I found 9-10:30 and 1:30 - 3 worked pretty well. Whatever time you choose, I think the routine is just as important - if not more. Maybe feel him, read a book then sing a song, then lie him down.. .whatever your routine is, do it each time before napping. I know we put the quiet music on in my daughter's bedroom, then did the routine. Even this young, it signifies bedtime and resttime and helps them prepare to go down. Good luck
