Hi moms,
Was wondering if anyone knows of a good all-natural (i.e., no fragrance or parabens) lotion I can use on my 6-month-old son? I would preferably like it to smell good too (naturally). His skin has been getting dry in these frigid temps!
Thanks!

What can I do next?

We like the Earth's Best products. Their lotion is lavender scented. Method (available at Target) makes good stuff, too.

Hi K.:

I am partnered with a wellness company that sells an excellent product called Renew. It is all-natural and has really has been of significant help to me and my kids. Every winter I get really dry skin between my fingers that actually cracks and bleeds and this is the first product I have found that actually cleared it up and within a couple days! My 14 month old twins also have eczema that the lotion has cleared up.

Feel free to contact me if you're interested. :)

I use grapeseed oil on my kids. You can get it at any health food store.

Hi K.-you have to be really careful of what is considered "natural." So much of the information out there is flat out misleading.

Coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil work wonderful-just make sure they are certified organic. You see when a company touts their products as natural it can have over 50% of chemicals in them and even can add a chemical fragrance. It is best to stick with certification. Vitacost.com has many and it is a great discount website.

Let me know if you have any questions

I am all into the natural stuff, and homeopathic remedies, etc., but I just recently discovered that the Aveeno brand lotion works very fast! We left on a trip on that 30 below day and our children's skin got chapped all over. We weren't in our ususal place to shop for "natural" products, so I bought Aveeno lotion. We all love it now!

I second the response of Toni, K.! Even if a product has aloe in it, a company can market it as natural, etc. You must beware and make sure your baby products do not contain mineral in them. Mineral oil is occlusive and it won't help with dry skin either. It acts as a barrier actually and doesn't penetrate into the skin - not to mention it's harmful!

If you want to be 100% certain that the products you put on yourself and your baby are safe, then check out the products at Miessence. These products are 100% certified organic and have the highest rating. You can see them all here at www.karenmacnab.mionegroup.com and see the purity and safety of these products. You are smart to check out products first, not just for your baby, but for you too! Check out any products at http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com and see where the companies/products that you use and trust stand up!

I'd be happy to assist you with any other information. Here's to your family's health!

I love California Baby products. I use the baby wash, lotion and the diaper area spray (I cloth diaper). It's great, all natural and smells great.

Hi K.
I have used California baby line and it is nice. Its odor is very strong though, in my opinion, and mediciney. I don't think it is the most pleasant for a baby, although the products are effective and get the job done. You might want to try the ABC line from Arbonne. Their baby line is paraben free, key ingredient is decyl glucoside which is a plant derived, biodegradable gentle cleansing agent especially for babies with sensitive skin. They're ph balanced and are free of nut oils as well, actually shea butter is used in the lotions and creams. You can check them out here at
http://www.arbonne.com/products/baby/
I recently became a consultant because I love all of their safe, non abrasive, biodegradable products and their makeup is just the best. If you would like to know more or have questions, feel free to message me back!

Hello,
Last winter we used Avalon Organics baby lotion and I was really happy with that. We ran out and I got some Burt's Bees this winter and that seems to be doing the trick as well. I liked the smell of the Avalon one better because it was very light and clean, but the BB is just a bit more 'baby' smelling (like baby powders), so that's not so bad.
Hope that helps!

Hi K.,
Shaklee has a wonderful line of baby products, all natural and paraben free. If you'd like information on how to get them, I am a distributor. The baby lotion smells good - clean and natural, no frilly scents.

What about California Baby Lotion? I think that's the name. There's also some Burt's Bees. I don't know about the parabens, but most stuff has some type of fragrance.
