I'd love to make my own natural (and organic if possible) cosmetic products but am just overwhelmed with ideas you find on the internet. Alot of these sites still you SLS noodles which is what I'm trying to steer clear of. Any tips on books and trusted web sites would be greatly appreciated.

UNLV has a community course on Herbal Skin Care and Beauty 1 & 2. You will create herbal skin care products, shampoo, conditioner, all in one make-up and other beauty products. I have a friend who makes her own cosmetics, and another who uses honey and oatmeal on her face.. they both seem happy with it.

I used to make my own cosmetics. Then I found Aromaleigh for makeup.
I only use pure olive oil and water as moisturizer and watch my diet. That has changed my skin so much. It is now beautiful, whereas I used to have acne scars and much need for coverup. I go days without makeup and it lookos good now.
Oh! and the other thing I've done is take pure MSM as a dietary supplement. Our diets are sadly lacking this and it is known to help the cells regenerate and utilize oxygen.

I like you have a concern about skin care and the use of parabens which are considered natural preservative but still are very harmful when exposed to the UV rays....and also seep through the skin wall and enter the bloodstream actually causing other very serious health challenges.
