I'm 26 weeks pregnant and it seems my nausea is back again. I was convinced I had a mild stomach bug at first but its been a few days and the symptoms are not going away. All the same stuff as the 1st trimester. I have no appetite and food just seems gross and if I do eat anything I taste it for hours which is disgusting. I just feel sick to my stomach most of the day, with occasional vomiting.
Has anyone else experienced this? I didn't have this during the pregenancy with my first daughter, so wasn't expecting this. And the thought of feeling like this for 14 more weeks with a 19 month old to take care of - well its a bit more than I can really handle thinking about.
I did check my blood pressure just to make sure that wasn't an issue and its completely normal. I'm still hoping this nausea will pass and I'll get a break for the last trimester. So anyone out there deal with this and if so, any tips or recommendations? I suddenly want the next trimester to fly by if this is how I'm going to feel for 14 weeks! Ughh.

I suggest if you are taking vitamins to switch to children's chewable vitamins (like the Flintstones). Two of those are the same as most of the prenatal vitamin doses out there. A lot of times the coating messes with our stomachs. (Advice from my mom the RN. ) Nibbling gingersnaps throughout the day might help too. (The crunchy kind not the soft chewy ones). Do some light stretching if you can..of your torso area, baby will move off of anything that might be affecting that. One of mine hooked a toe into my rib cage..gave me heartburn for three months. Another kicked a hip out of joint and sat stubbornly and firmly in the hip socket for about a week. Doctors and nurses and friends and relatives will give you tons of advice. An utrasound may give you the position of the baby and shed some light on your symtoms though. But the above, and in case it is a bug, perhaps you should try a spot of Jello tea. That's Three Tablespoons of Jello powder (any flavor) dissolved in one cup boiling water. Drink with a shot of lemon juice if you like some zing in your tea. That will balance out your tummy's ph balance and perhaps make keeping things down easier. Sometimes it takes two doses, but usually in my experience one does the trick when pretty much all else has failed. Helps if you have been lactose intolerant following the flu or something too. I did...but I found out that my prenatal vitamins were actually making me sick. It was a fluke I found out, we were moving and fairly broke...and they got packed! So a few days without (and me feeling guilty), found 'em...and like magic the slight headache (which would get worse and worse and worse, until I would be crying) and increasing nausea returned. Skipped the next 2 days...nothing, no headaches, no nausea...had another (Whoa man, I'm sea sick from seeing too much!)
So I switched to chewing Flintstones a couple times a day.
Another 2 great things that can help nausea is pickled ginger (like the kind for sushi)...and smelling cloves. Not together, although, maybe that would be a double whammy...I never tried it. I don't know why they work, on either, but they're both notorious for settling stomachs.
Also...I'm hesitant to leave this until the end...Talk with your OB about what's going on. Rarely, nausea can be a symptom of something being wrong. More often, it's just a pain in the neck. Still, it's best to check out.
I had nausea during my whole first pregnancy. I found it got much worse during stressful times when I felt overwhelmed (adding to the overwhelmed feeling), like meetings, conflicts, or tests. My next pregnancy, I read a tip to drink kefir. It worked magically. I had a small cup of kefir at least once a day on an empty stomach, and the nausea was kept at bay.

K., I had it on/off all 40 weeks. I used lots of ginger tea, and peppermint (smell) to abate the symptoms. Sorry not to have any way of making it go away. I remember and can sympathize w/you. Something I know now, that 'might' have made a difference then, is that my little guy can't process gluten at all, and only limited amounts of dairy. You could try that now. It would be interesting to know if moms stopped eating those substances during prolonged nausea, if it would help mom during gestation, and if it would help the little guys abate further allergies later???

I had nausea and threw up daily till I was 7 months with my first child and the whole 9 months with my seconed. The things that I found that helped were taking my showers at night, pepermint tea (for my first preg. only), eating small meals several times a day, chewing gum, and resting as much as possible. Hopefully for you this will subside and you will feel better. Good luck!!
At about that time during my pregnancy I was so nauseated I was getting only a few hours of sleepp and was getting dehydrated. I got a phenergan prescription which allowed me to starte eating and drinking again. I learned that I was letting my stomach get empty which made the nausea worse. If you can't keep water down call your doc to make sure you aren't getting dehydrated....

This won't make you feel any better (sorry) but I had nausea and vomiting for 9 months with both of my kids (even vomtited during labor which was NOT ideal!) and magically, after I delivered, it all went away!!
Sorry I don't have any helpful advice but I can say you will get through it and it WILL go away!

Make sure you don't get dehydrated...get a nice big container of water (room temp) and take a sip whenever you walk by.
Have a granola/breakfast bar sitting next to the water. Take a small bite before sipping the water.
Hopefully the nausea will go away soon.

I would one cut back on dairy and then if that doesnt work, try to see what you may be eating everyday and try and cut back on that. I got it bad at the end of my pregnancy once my Braxton hicks were regular. You can also try sipping ginger tea. It was my best friend all through being prego. or go to a health fore and get the chewy ginger cnadies. they are nice on the go when you cant make tea!! good luck and congrats.
I am 14 weeks pregnant and while I never got "morning sickness" I too have a hard time with food, most food especially meats and anything with too much flavor or smell gross me out. I tend to eat a lot of bland foods like cheerios, yogurt, milk, toast...I also wake up every morning feeling like I'm "hungover" (without the benefit of any wine the night before!) -- headache, stuffed up, thirsty and overall yucky feeling... I don't have any advice for you, but just to say I have something similar. My MIL thinks this is all just my version of morning sickness...which I dind't have with either of my first 2 kids... good luck, hang in there!
I had the same thing and for me I cut down on dairy. It helped a lot. It did not eliminate it completely. The other thing that worked for me was to keep saltines by my bed so that when I woke up in the morning I could eat one and that seemed to help.

Homeopathic remedies are completely safe to take during pregnancy and can really help with various ailments. Ipecachuana 30c is especially helpful for nausea. Look into it or check with a homeopath or talk to someone at a health food store. You can get it online at many places...here's one I found:

You may actually have a stomach virus that has been going around. I had it and had nausea for a week - I thought I was pregnant! Then again, you may have 'morning' sickness, which I hope for your sake you don't! A friend of mine says hers comes and goes so you're not the only one. Get well soon!
