Need a Good OBGYN Willing to Do V-bac

I need to find a new OBGYN. I have had four kids (the first three vaginally and the last by emergency C-section. I have never been happy with my OB's bedside manner, but the last birth just put me over the edge. She seemed to keep certain details from me until I really questioned her. I would love to find a new OB who would be willing to discuss V-Bac with me, who isn't going to push C-section just because I have had a previous one. Has anybody here had a successful V-Bac and/or have a great doctor that you can recommend?

What can I do next?

I had my first child via scheduled c-section (10+ pound baby, no traveling plans at due date), and was given the option to try a vaginal birth with my second (ended up the same as the first, 10+ pound baby, no progress toward birth at due date).

My doctors for the first and second were both members of the faculty practice at the OSU Medical Center. The second doc, in particular, was Linbee Sayat. I have had VERY positive experiences with this practice and with OSUMC. I highly recommend both.

Kingsdale Gynecological Associates is awesome. The previous poster mentioned Stephanie - her last name is Costa. I love Dr. Kimberly Shephard. I love my doctor, Jason Melillo. All of the doctors there are excellent! There is a doctor that fits every personality.

I will mention that I ended up with a C-section with my first. I will probably be a repeat C-section if I get pregnant again.

Their number: ###-###-#### and they are on Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington and a second office on Sawmill Parkway in Powell.

Dr Michael Parker of Northeast OBGYN. Their website is www.neob.net. He is wonderful and will perform a VBAC. I teach natural childbirth classes and he is very supportive.

I'm not sure what end of town you're in, but I love my ob. Her name is Dr. Kimberly Shepherd, and she works through Kingsdale Gynecologic associates on Lane (although, they have another office up by sawmill too, i think). Good luck!!

I love Professionals for Women's Health! There are several doctors, but all are great! I had A LOT of questions with my pregnancy (first one) and they always answered all of my questions and never made me feel stupid or rushed. They also fit me in anytime I needed a visit (besides my regularly scheduled ones). They have 3 different offices around town which makes them pretty convenient too :) Good luck!

My OB/GYN is great and I would recommend him to any woman. In fact, two of my best friends go to him (one went b/c I recommended him when she got pregnant) and they both love him (as do I). He is a great doctor, always answers my questions and takes his time. I never feel rushed. My pregnancy was high-risk and I needed surgery when I was 15 weeks pregnant. I discussed with him whether I would need a c-section at the time of birth due to the surgery at 15 weeks but he said 'no' and that he would much rather do a vaginal delivery. He also hooked me up with the best care for my surgery and after. He was great at the delivery of my son and after. I am really happy with him. His practice is at Easton: 4030 Easton Station, Ste 200, Cols 43219 and he has an office in Lithopolis too. He has a website: www.womankindhealth.com His phone: (614) 75-woman ###-###-####). Anyway, I don't think that he is opposed to v-bac. I hope you will call his office and get an appointment to at least talk to him and see how you like him.

I go to Dr. Olah at Columbus OB/GYN & love her. I had my first baby c-section & am now expecting #2 in Feb. She actually pushed for V-Bac, but we decided to go with scheduled c-section for many other reasons.

I also saw Professionals for Women's Health suggested. They were my doctor for the first pregnancy & I loved them as well. I only switched because we live out in Blacklick & their offices aren't convinient for that area. But I know they are supportive of v-bac as well.

Good luck!

I've been going to Comprehensive Women's Care at Olentangy/Knights Bridge Blvd. (location also at St. Anns) for the last 10 years and am very happy. I was given the choice after having my first one c-section. **this is where Dr. Anath is, someone mentioned below. I see Dr. Somani and love her!

I am not sure about the vbac part but I love my ob/gyn. Her name is Dr. Sabol. Now she is currently on maternity leave but I have dealt with 2 of the other doctors in the office, Dr. Russ and Dr. Sprague (SP?). They are part of Northeast Ob/Gyn and the number is ###-###-####. The office I go to is in Gahanna but I think they have another office, maybe in Grove City. Hope that helps.

Most OB/GYN doctors will let you try a vbac but I will say I havent seen many successful ones in my years of OB nursing. I do wish you the best of luck if that's the route you choose to take.

First, oh my, 4 kids. I bow to you. :) I have trouble with 2. And, I saw on your profile, when they all start whining at once. I can only imagine since my 2 have done this.
Second, my OB with my first was Kingsdale Gynecologic. After all this time, I don't remember her last name. Stephanie was her 1st, I think. I don't know about vbacs, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Everyone I met at the clinic was great.
