Need a GOOD Video Monitoring System

We bought the Summer Infant video monitoring system about a year ago (the one with the flat screen). Over the last few weeks, the monitor would give us fits when we tried to turn it on. Tonight it won't come on at all and now we just have the audio monitor to use. I want to buy another one this weekend and looked at reviews of different systems on the BabiesRUs website. The reviews are mixed and so I'm not sure which to buy. We recently adopted our son and hope to foster again soon. I would love to get a system that would accommodate two different cameras in two different rooms. Any suggestions are immensely appreciated!

We have the BeBe Sounds system and have had good results. There is some interference as we walk through the house, but a little adjusting fixes it. My mom has the Graco video monitor, and although I usually like Graco, their monitor wasn't designed well, it is hard to adjust and breaks easily. Hope this helps.

We absolutely LOVE the video monitor. We bought the Summer handheld (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265802) 2.5 years ago for my daughter. After 6 months, we had the problem you are mentioning where the screen would no longer receive video reception. We did take back & exchanged for a new one and has been working like a champ ever since.

We have a 4 month old in the house now. We opted to buy another set instead of just adding a camera so that both my husband & I have access to a monitor. He keeps his set on my oldest's channel & mine is set for the baby's channel. But you can just switch back and forth to see both rooms.

Good luck!

This is sooo beyond anything we had wehn our kids were little- BUT- my husband has a video monitoring systesm that he got at Fryes (or maybe Best Buy?) for his office. Something simple enough that he could set it up- it hooks up to his computer- and has a multiple monitors. You might check at that kind of store rather than getting one at a baby store. Same thing but possibly better quality - the only difference being it isn't packaged in pink or blue.
Good luck.

I have the Summer Infant black/white TV video monitor that cost $100 3 years ago and it still works like a charm. You can see the child breathing and we've only had to replace the plug connection once due to it being dropped. I believe it only comes with 1 camera but it's well worth the price.
