Hi! I live in LA and have a friend in the Dallas area who has addiction in his relationship, kids and a big, stressful job. I need a terrific, direct, no-nonsense therapist that has knowledge of addiction, co-dependency, anger-management issue. Private. In the downtown area or surrounding Dallas area a plus. Friend lives somewhere sort of near Coppell, TX. Thank you!

She helped my entire family when we had to do an itervention with my adult brother who relapsed after 15 years of sobriety. It's been about 6 years, so her office or pager number may hae changed, but she's worth tracking down. And my brother is still sober!

I hate to piggyback on your question...but if anybody knows of anybody in the Seattle area as well I have the same exact situation!
I would suggest that you call Green Oaks, Dallas for a reccommendation - wonderful facility with out patient and docs in private practice as well. Good Luck!
Pick up the phone and dial ###-###-#### to talk to Mark Felber. He is OUTSTANDING in all the areas you mentioned. You can check out his website, www.marriagecpr.com to see the areas in which he specializes. Seriously, this man is an excellent therapist. Gets terrific results. Hope it works out for your friend.
I highly recommend a program called CHOICES. Even if a person already knows the effect of their actions, he/she just keeps repeating the same behaviors. CHOICES helps you get to the core - - the reasons behind our behavior. During my weekend seminar in 2005, some people were there to stop a bad habit like smoking or drinking. Others were there as business professionals wanting to improve leadership/teamwork at their company. I went to overcome my depression over impending divorce. No matter what is driving you or a friend to make certain choices in life, I highly recommend attending CHOICE's 3-day seminar. You sign in on Thurs. eve and leave on Sun. afternoon. In Texas, the seminars are held at the Sheraton hotel just north of the DFW airport, close to where your friend lives.
There are two upcoming Texas seminars: May 12-16 and July 7-11. www.choicesseminars.com
I talked, talked, talked with a therapist for months, yet still had anger/sadness over my husband and best friend's affair. My best friend sent me to CHOICES. She and her husband had gone a few months earlier. Amazing how much "baggage" can be dumped in one weekend. Thelma Box started CHOICES with a partner, but it was called something else back then. When her partner became rich and famous and got called to "Hollywood", he sold his half of the business. (That former partner was Dr. Phil.) Thelma Box is still "changing the world, one heart at a time" successfully without ever having to advertise!! Each seminar session is filled with 30-40 "strangers" just by word of mouth from past attendees. Once you've been, you want to send friends/family because you want the people you love to "get" the same thing you did. On Thurs. evening, you start as strangers, but when you leave on Sunday, you are part of Thelma's extended "family."
