Hi! I have a friend who is flying in from TX tomorrow morning. They are only going to be in the Phx area for about half of the day. (They are driving down to Yuma to visit a friend whose son died last month.) We are planning to meet for breakfast around 9am after their plane arrives. Does anyone know of a good place to eat breakfast that is either around the airport, in downtown Tempe, or even in Ahwatukee? You know somewhere not too out of their way as they are going from the airport to the 10 to go to Yuma.

I have to decide but I don't really know that area. THX!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We ended up going to The Farm at South Mountain. (Thx to Kim for the suggestion!) Their breakfast place is called the Morning Glory Cafe. It was a nice place to go since it's not just any old place they could have gone to back in TX. It was a perfect place to meet, too. They called me when they were at baggage claim and on their way to get their rental car, and I left my house. We got there at the same time.

Thanks for all your responses. I love T.C. Eggingtons! I've never tried Crackers or The Farmhouse (which is less than 10 min from my house!), but I'll keep those places in mind. I just didn't want to have them come too much towards Mesa since they were on their way to Yuma.

Hi L., I don't know if you are interested but the Farmhouse Rest. in Gilbert is the BEST place to eat breakfast. If it is too far out of your way for your friends and family that is visiting u have to try it on your own. I love it. Great food around $10 a person and even have to take leftovers. Huge portions. Always ppeople comming and going so you know it is great. It is soooo worth the wait. good luck , Their [phone ####-###-####]

T.C. Eggington's on the W side of Alma School (or maybe Dobson?) and Baseline ROCKS!!! I've also been to Cracker's, noted below, and I really enjoy their food (best soups and bread pudding ever) but I have to say that I really prefer Eggington's when it comes to breakfast food. I've never been anywhere better. I always get their French toast, battered in custard and so delicous, and I also get the Cottage Reef, an omelette with crab, artichoke hearts, cream cheese and topped with Hollandaise sauce. I hope I didn't send this response too late. It is SOOOOOO good! Now I want to go. Have fun with your friend.

I agree with Crackers on the 60 and Country Club! Wonderful food, some of it is healthy and it is a great atmosphere!

The Farm at South Mountain, sit outside and its very casual - I believe they serve breakfast in the am, very quaint place. Also, breakfast at Mimi's is nice, they are pretty quick.
