Need a New Pediatrician in Spring Area

Our current pediatrician (who we LOVE) is Dr. Michael Pope with the FM1960 Pediatric Center on Cypresswood and they are with Texas Children's Pediatric Associates. Unfortunately, starting March of next year they (Texas Children's Pediatric Associates) will no longer be accepting our insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield); therefore, our pediatrician will not accept it any longer. So now I need to find a new pediatrician not assocatied with Texas Children's Pediatric. I have an 18 mo. boy and am expecting #2 in February. I will be asking Dr. Pope for recommendations (as well as my OB/GYN), but thought I would ask all the other Moms out there as well! I live in Spring near Champions Forest. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated!!!

What can I do next?

The Pediatric and Adolescent Center of NW Houston is putting a new office in on Spring Cypress just west of Champion Forest. I seriously considered going to Dr. Fowler before we decided on Dr. Pope. With the @#$@# insurance issue we will probably go to their office. Right now they have an office on Louetta just west of 249.

Hello K.! My son is almost 8 months and I absoultely love his pediatrician. His name is Dr. Donald Leass. He's located near 1960 & 45. He is a great doctor and avoid medicating your child unless absolutely necessary. Which I think is awesome! He is a neonatologist as well and was listed as one of the top doctors in 07'! Another plus is that you can get in to see him almost immediately and his staff is awesome! Typically I can get my son in to see Dr. Leass the same day I call. I am not sure of he accepts your insurance but I think he accepts almost of all of the plans. His office number is ###-###-####.

You may want to consider Dr. Tracy L. Carter who is with Kelsey Seybold. I have a 4 month old daughter and I interviewed several pediatricians in the Spring area before she was born. She has been great! I have even been able to call her for simple questions. She is located at a new building off of Louetta near 249. (10701 Vintage Preserve Pkwy. Houston, TX 77070) Their phone number is ###-###-####.

Good luck with your search!

Hi, We also have Blue Cross Blue Shield and it was difficult finding a really good pediatrician. (but we did!) I love Dr. Donald Leass. His office is on Red Oak, near 1960. His staff is wonderful and we never wait a long time in the waiting room.

We are having the dame problem, we wrote a letter to Blue Cross to complain, and I am planning on writinh a letter to Texas Childrens as well! I suggest you do the same, my husband is with Houston Fire Dept. and there are a TON of people complaining, I am sure it would help if we all rise up and try to change the resolve!
