Hello, All! I just found out that our pediatrician (who we LOVE!) is closing- she's going to work in Africa. Anyway- I need to find a new pediatrician by the end of the year, both for our 5 and 3 year old girls, and for the new baby we are adopting from Korea, whenever that happens. I was wondering if anyone has a good pediatrician that has experience dealing with internationally adopted children. We live north of Dallas, in the Flower Mound area. However, if we could find someone who is good with the adoption stuff, I'd be willing to drive a bit once we have our baby referred (to check the medical stuff with them) and home. Thanks for any help!

I think I read a while back that Dr Schlichtemaier at Coppell Pediatrics has experience in international adoptions. I think there was a newspaper article quoting her as well.

Dr. Elizabeth Dickey is a great pediatrician and would be an excellent resource for you. I'm not sure that she specializes in adoption, but she is very worldly. She is probably the smartest doctor I have ever met. I'm in FM too and her office is in Grapevine. It takes about 15 minutes to get there. Not too bad to see an excellent doctor. You should call her office and ask the staff. I've attached a link to her website.

Dr Schlichtemaier at Coppell Pediatrics is renowned for her understanding in the int'l adopted children and their unique needs. She was included in a multi-series article that ran in the Dallas Morning News a few years back.

You might try Dr. Eckel in Denton. I believe he has adopted internationally himself.
