Need Advice on Cleaning Microfiber...

I am wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have a wine-colored microfiber sofa. My kids constantly rub their hands on it, spill food, etc. etc. It seems that when I try and clean it, when it dries then I can see where the stain begins and ends, as well as where I cleaned. Then when I clean it again, the fabric feels kind of rough. I just want to know how to maintain my microfiber, I have heard alot of people say it's easy to clean, but I'm not finding that with my sofa! Please help if anyone knows of any cleaning product, or steps, anything so that I don't have to keep looking at a dirty sofa!

What can I do next?

I was leery the first time I tried it, but my cat had urinated on our couch and we couldn't get the smell out. We were going to have to trash it or wash it. So I wash them, I used the delicate cycle the first time and they came out fine. I have done it since then using regular detergent and the regular wash cycle. I even dry them in the dryer, no shrinkage! I don't know if all microfiber is the same, so beware! But mine come out fine every time. Be sure you zip them closed before washing and drying, it has damaged the stitching on the zippers when I washed them with them still open. If you are worried about drying them, you can just lay them out flat and they will dry, but the dryer is much faster! Good luck!

Hi A. I have the same problem with mine too! Its funny becasue they say you can get anything out of it with soap and water solution and rub it out with a rag. And that does not seem to work. What I have done in the past was get my carpet cleaner and used my hand attachments on it and it came out looking brand new!!! I actually need to do it again.

My husband found an amazing cleaning idea on the internet. It works on carpets and furniture, but I haven't tried it on microfiber yet. It's just a capful of amonia to 1 cup of water. Dab on the spot. Of course, you'll want to try it on a hidden part of the couch first. I hope this helps!

I've washed my cushion covers in the washer several times and have loved the results. BUT, all fabrics are different. Good
luck...
