Dave Ramsey often mentions the book "Guerilla Marketing." It may be just what you're looking for- Here's the Wikipedia link for his info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerrilla_marketing
Good Luck!

I started a home business about a year ago, but it really hasn't done well and I'm needing some marketing ideas. I do kids birthday parties. I have two different things I do at them. One is an animal stuffing party. The other is a glamour girl workshop. The parties are a lot of fun and I truly enjoy them. I would like to get some more ideas for marketing myself that are low cost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

So, can you tell me about the animal stuffing party? My son would be turning 4 in July and I am looking for ideas for his party. What are the costs and what all does it involve?
Hi...I just wanted to chime in and tell you that I have a neighbor who does a kid's cooking class for b-day parties and stuff. She also does mommy & me classes for younger kids with simpler recipes and does baby making food classes. If you want to get a few ideas you can look at her website at www.woodenspoonkeller.com
Hope you can get some ideas!

Hi K. -
Perhaps you could work with some of the party supply stores - go meet with the store manager and work together to identify products that they sell that could be used at your parties, then get the party supply store to promote your business because they know if people hire you then the store will make money as the supplier of things used for the parties. You could create "packages" together with the party suply store where for a single price the parents get supplies and your services all together, and you could even pick up the supplies that they purchased and come and set everything up. You could offer a "discount" if your customers use the party supply store, they could offer a discount if their customers used your services. Do deals like this with the party supplies stores located closest to the most affluent areas such as Southlake, where parents are known to spend over a $1,000 for a kid's brithday party - and that type of customer is used to hiring people to do things for them.
Hope these ideas help you!
Best Wishes,
D.
Take flyers up to preschools or daycares
I would like more info on your paties.
With all the childrens entertainers/theme parties there are out there it is just going to take time to get things of the ground. Probably the best thing you can do is get your name out there. Advertising in Dallas and Fort Worth Child and talk with Daycares about leaving advertisements with them. Some will let you and some wont. Also try posting flyers at grocery stores. My mom owns a childrens entertainment agency and she has magnetic signs on her van and that gets her a lot of business. They can be pricey, but it all depend on how many colors, etc you get on them.

hi I dont have any advice but was looking for an idea for my lil girls 2 bday. there will be 8 kids 4boys and 4 girls.. what are your ideas and pricing
Hi, my daughter will be turning 3 soon.
I would like to know more about your parties and can surely pass it along to our friends.
Thanks
Have you tried creating a web page with pictures of past parties you have done? If not, that would be a start. Once you have done so (if not already) forward the link to your friends and have them forward to their friends, etc. Also, you may want to call local hotels and inquire about conventions that may be going on. If the convention consist of area locals, you can check into renting a booth space and showcasing your business. Just a few ideas I thought of. Good luck!!
