Need Advice on Laundry Soap

We also have a stacking setup, and I have a baby with very sensitive skin. I find that All Free & Clear is reasonably priced and it says HE on the bottle. I've been very happy with it. Tide's dye-free perfume-free version (not sure what it's called, maybe Tide Free?) also makes an HE version.

You should know, though, that you can use any type of detergent. Just make sure that if you bought one that doesn't say HE on the front, USE LESS OF IT. When I buy a non-HE detergent like Seventh Generation I use almost half of the recommended amount. It works out just fine.

I also set the washing machine to always perform an extra rinse cycle so that all of the detergent comes out of the clothes before they get dried. If your baby has sensitive skin, you should do this too. Not very water-wise but better for baby's skin.

I love the new Melaleuca Mela Power! Since it is 6x concentrated I only need to use 1/4 oz in my front loader.

My son used to suffer from eczema and contact dermatitis. I would highly recommend using HE laundry products from Melaleuca~The Wellness Company. All of their products are non-caustic & non-toxic, which is great when you have little ones cruising around. They get delivered right to your door and are less expensive than grocery store brands. we have a he only washer and dryer set and i still used the dreft its so gentle and safe you should be able to continue to use it (we did till our daughter was a year). but if you want to change detergents then i would suggest tide free (the one with no dyes or smells and i believe it comes in he. good luck!

I think that at nine months you may be okay to switch to a gentle regular detergent (not dreft). A quick message to your doctor would verify this. Ofcourse if the baby has a rash then you'd switch back.

Also, Kirkland is now making a varity of HE detergents if you are a member of Costco. I just purchased the environmentally friendly one, but noticed they have a brand that is no dyes, no fragrance that is also HE. I have used the Kirkland brand for years. Having noticed it looks just like Tide, I tried it and found it cleans like Tide and even beat Tide on performance according to consumer affairs.
