If you are putting anything other than water in them at night I would say stop that and only give them water at night. Maybe leaving the sippy cup on their nightstand or close by the bed then if they wake up in the middle of the night they can easily reach for a drink of water. Or if you want to get then totally off you can try telling them a creative and imaginative story every night about letting their cups go over a few days or weeks to prepare them for completely letting them go.

it is really bad for them to have anything with sugar in it over night, in can take the enamel right off their teeth. Even milk has sugar in it...if it were me and I did not want to take them cold turkey I would say they could only have water at night. Maybe since they are old enough offer an incentive/reward sticker chart, if they go a whole week with no sippy then a special treat? It could be a small treat, trip to the park, 49cent cone form McDonalds?

Why can't she just have water? If she's having accidents, then nothing past 6. Just let her fuss it out. She'll get used to it.

If it is because they are thirsty I would let it be. Maybe switch out to sports bottles. My 11 & 6 year olds get thirsty and have sports bottles at night.

I'm not really sure why this would be a problem. Is it the sippy cup, as opposed to a regular cup? Is it waking thirsty at night? Is it having to use the potty or wetting the bed?

I always used to wake up thirsty when I was little, and sometimes still do. Being thirsty never helped me sleep, so it may not be a good idea to take water away at night.
