Need an Idea for a Girls' Night Out

I want to give a Girls' Night Out for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I've been thinking of a cooking class together, or an event with a coffee after... I'm fairly new to the area so I thought I'd ask you knowledgeable moms. Do you have any good Mom's Getaway ideas? Both my sister-in-law and I are stay-at-home moms of young kids and just getting out would be great! It could be an evening outing or a Saturday. We love good books, good food and a good time!

What can I do next?

I'm not sure where you live, but Julep Salon by the U-Village does Girls Nights with manicures/pedicures...They can move the chairs around so you can sit by each other, and I think you can bring wine too! Another fun thing to do would be to go up to the resort at the casino in Marysville (there's a spa) and then go shopping at the outlet mall. Have fun!

E.- this is a SUPER area - depending on where you live. There is a fabulous books store - complete with both a coffee '''bar''' and Honey Bear Bakery inside ( it's HUGE). Third Place books in Shoreline is in a tiny -- sort of mall called Lake Forest Park. -- Bothell Way and Ballinger Way-- the books store has tons of areas where there are couches, and lamps set up for people to cozy down and read or chat -it's my '''''' club''' -- . If you are a bit more south- Wallingford Center in the University District is INCREDIBLE - bakerys and coffee and fantastic shops with things for us ladies and things for kids - oh, I love Wallingford Center -- very unique. I will watch with interest to see what I have been missing- as I know the Moms here will '''fill you in'' -- Blessings.

The theaters around here have some great shows. I just went out last night to the Greenlake bathouse theatre and the tickets were only $25 and we saw "Santaland Diaries". It was a one man stand up comedy show and it was amazing. Went out to dinner before at "Kabul" afghanistan cuisine in Wallingford. Look up "restaurants.com" - they have great deals on buying $25 gift certificates for $10 and they are super easy to print out - I love using them. After the show we went out for drinks at a local pub and had an great evening. Good Luck!

My girlfriend and I plan a night out away from the kids and husbands every couple of months. We go to dinner then to a play at the Paramount or 5th Ave. It is a wonderful night out and we get plenty of time to talk and catch up at dinner. Once a year we run away to the ocean and my wonderful husband takes the kids. He says he loves it as I come home so relaxed and refreshed. One year we went and saw the Nutcracker which neither of our husbands cared to see.

Hope that this helps
