you can make everyone to guess how big is her belly? who ever wins gets a small price like a toy,bea.etc. Also you can put 4 chair around each other and have 5 people move around it while a music its playing when music stop everyone has to seat in one of the chair who ever is left without a chair lose. then you left with 3 chair and 4 people until there is only one chair who ever seat on the last chair wins.

At both of my showers we bought a gift certificate to applebee's or somewhere for about $20.00, everyone who brought a bag of diapers got their named entered into a drawing for the gift certificate, at the very end you draw a name and that person gets the gift certificate, I like this one because it encourages people to bring diapers which is one thing you always need. My sister in law mad a book with blank pages in it and had everyone that came write down parenting advice and sign it so my children could see who attended their showers. If you know the baby's name you could have everyone take like 20 seconds to write down different ways to spell it, and whoever has the most wins a prize, even if she is having problems coming up with names you could have them write down as many different names they can think of in 20 seconds. The clothespin game is good, take some string and have everyone cut a peice that they think will fit around mama's belly, who ever is closest wins a prize. We did a baby crossword. Baby bingo is a good one, I am having trouble thinking of any more but if you need more help I am sure I can think of plenty more things. I hope this helps with the planning of the shower. Oh yeah the baby food game, you get a few jars of baby food, give everyone a peice of paper and pen, empty the jars into bowls and have everyone smell the baby food and write down what it is, whoever gets the most right wins a prize.

I resently went to a baby shower where in the invitation they requested that instead of bringing a card with the gift - buying a book and putting your wishes in the book to help build the babies first library. Everyone ended up bringing a gift and their own favorite book from when they were little. It was really neat.

Hope this helps!

A friend of mine removed the labels from baby food jars, numbered the jars, and had all the everyone guest the contents. She gave out lists of all the foods she had and you wrote the number of the jar next to what you thought was in it. Then after the party she gave me the baby food. There was also a guess that lulaby. She wrote a line from a lulaby and we had to figure out the rest of the lyric. She also had everyone write a guess on the babies height, weight, and due date. The guest that was the closest to what the doctor had estimated won a prize. Everyone had a great time. She used a tea party theme for me.

When I threw a shower for my sister in law we did a Bun-In-The-Oven theme since she did not know the babies gender. I baked huge Cinnamon Rolls for all the guests as thank you gifts with notes of thanks from "Donna and her bun -in-the-oven". She loved the whole idea.

I didn't read all the posts so maybe this one was already suggested, but it is a twist on one of the more recent ones suggested.

When everyone arrives introduce everyone to your grandma (or mom). Anyone who knows your grandma well you don't have to do it, anyone who has met her you can mention "oh and you remember my grandma" and anyone who doesn't already know her at all you can intro for the 1st time. This becomes important later. When you have already done a few games, then you get to this one. You have grandma carry a tray with baby items around for everyone to view (or a poster with pictures of baby stuff such as pacifier, baby food, etc). Make sure they all know this is in preparation of the next game. After grandma has made her rounds, have her disappear to take the tray out of the room and stay out of the room for this game. Then tell everyone to write down as much as they can remember about what grandma was wearing or what she looked like. It is quite funny to see what people come up with and how many people actually paid attention to those details. Good luck with the shower.

at my baby shower my friend bought a scrap book and everyone decorated a page for the baby in the theme of b-days. so it went from age 1 on up depending on how many people are there. Also I have heard of people decorating onsies for the baby. And a cute game is making babies out of play dough and the best baby gets a small prize.

Hi - you may have heard of this one but it is hilarious so I had to share. You take diapers and a variety of candy bars. You melt part of the candy bar in the microwave and then put it in a diaper and kind of squish it up a bit. It of course resembles a dirty diaper. Number each diaper and pass it around at the shower. They guests have to guess what candy bar is in the diaper. It is pretty gross but so much fun too. Hope that helps.

Hi there. I have thrown countless showers and parties for my friends and family. There a few classic games I could suggest. One is a baby word search. You just use baby words like, bottle, bib, diapers, formula, etc. You could also do a word scramble, just mix up different baby words. Ex: soletrlr=stroller. Thats a fun easy one. We once had all the guests of the party bring a baby picture of themselves and taped them on a poster board and people tried to guess who was who. This is especially fun if there are a few guests that aren't related. Another game is Take a piece of poster board and cut out pictures of baby items and tape/glue them to the poster board. Don't let anyone see it until you begin this game. Tell the guests that they are to look at the poster for something like 30 seconds and then put it away. Then have them write down as many of the items they can remember seeing on the poster. Its harder than you might think. But all these games are fun. Oh, I almost forgot the most important game that gets your guests that might not know eachother well to mingle. When the guests arrive give them a clothes pin. You could even decorate them with pink or blue ribbons or whatever the nursery is going to be decorated with. Then tell each guest that when they hear someone say "BABY" they get to take that persons clothes pin. The person with the most clothes pins at the end of the party gets a prize. Another one is the toilet paper game. Have the mom to be stand up and turn around. Then give the guest a roll of toilet paper to pass around and pull of how much toilet paper they think it would take to wrap around her belly.
I don't know if you're into cake decorating, but I have a cute idea for a favor. Get a small paper cup (like the ones they use in hospital to give out pills) and two big marshmallows. Take the marshmallows and place them next to eachother standing vertically. like this: 00 Ok, then stick a toothpick through them to make them stay together. Then take the paper cup and put it on top of one of the marshmallows. You can get it to stay on there with a dab of Royal Icing. Then cover the whole thing in stars shaped icing "dots" It will look like a baby bootie. If you use royal icing it will harden pretty good and you can wrap a piece of ribbon around it and then put dinner mints in the cup. It sounds complicated, but if you'd like I can email a pic for you. ____@____.com
I hope that these help and that your party is a success. I know that planning events is very stressful, so just remeber to BREATH!!!LOL!!! Good Luck!

at my baby shower my friend played this game where she bought items the baby would use, wrapped them, then on a piece of paper wrote a description of it. I had to guess what the item was to get to unwrap it. She used this for example
pacifier-something to give baby to quiet him/her down
washcloth-use this to clean baby at bath time.
It was really easy and a ton of fun.
We also played baby bingo. Fill in squares with baby related items(there is actually a website that has them done already, but I don't remember what it is).. Then just cut little squares with the sames words and play bingo.

I found alot of ideas on the internet when I gave a baby shower. I even printed some games from it. We played the scrambled word game using baby items for words, we had a baby bottle of pink candy (it was a girl) and everybody guessed how many was in it. The winner got a prize and mom got the bottle. And everybody loved baby bingo, using baby names. I've also seen a game where baby items are put in a paper bag, and everybody feels the bag and guesses what's inside. Mom gets to keep the baby items. And one shower I went to had baby diapers with a food item, like cocktail sauce, bbq sauce, etc. in the diaper, and you had to guess what the sauce was. It was kind of gross but everybody had fun.Well, good luck. K.

Have you heard of the dirty diaper game? You fill baby diapers with different foods and pass them around for people to guess what it is. Examples are mustard, pudding, lemon juice, squashed peas. It is a lot of fun and loosens everyone up.

I know you have gotten tons of responses but just had to share this game....I made a cd of songs with the words Mama, Daddy, Baby, Girl, Boy, etc in the title and then we played name that tune. We had a blast with that one! Just make sure the title isn't said in the very beginning of the song. I tried to make one with names, i.e. Jack and Diane, and almost all of those say the names right off which ruins it!

There is a game where you fill a diaper bag with baby things (rattle, diaper pins, bottle, about 20 things) and show the group the items one at a time and then put them all back in the diaper bag and they have to list as many as they can on paper...whoever has the most written down wins a prize and the diaper bag goes to the new mommy. I can't think of any more at the moment but I hope this helps.

I've always liked the one where you have baby items in a bag (could be a diaper bag) and you show everyone what they are. Then you put them away and everyone has to try to remember what they were and write them down. A word scramble is fun also, make a list of items, scramble the letters and see who figures out the most. ex etlotb bottle My sister and I also put candy in baby bottles and had people try to guess how many m&ms there were and etc. Good luck, showers are always fun-L.

I have given several baby showers and I have found a lot of games online. Just type in baby shower games into any search engine and you will be bombarded with ideas. I have found several crosswords, word finds, word scrambles, nursery rhyme games, etc. One game that we did at my sisters baby shower was to split into teams of at least 3 or more and use toilet paper to make a diaper on one of the team members and then you pick a winner (whoever made the best diaper). Another fun one if you are going to have close family and friends only is to pass around a doll or bear and have everyone kiss it in different places and after they have all kissed it then they have to kiss the mom to be in the same exact place. This can be really funny. Good luck with your search. Have fun.

At my baby shower we played this game where you take a party streamer and try to measure the expectant moms belly. The people cant wrap it around her belly, they have to guess how big they think she is. When everyone has guessed, then they wrap the streamer around her belly. The one who was the closest wins a prize.

My friends threw me a shower last Oct. Before opening gifts, every filled out a sheet of paper with 25 boxs & a middle box said "free". (think of a BINGO card) Everyone was told to fill in each box with items they thought I would receive. It could be as detailed or vague as they wanted. As I opened gifts, they would mark them off their card. Whoever crossed off 5 in a row won a little prize. In this case, the winner gave the prize to me. I thought it was a neat idea and kept everyone involved.

I love to plan games at baby showers. One game we play is putting diffent baby foods in a diaper and let the guest figure out what it is. Then take a marker and write messages to mom and dad on the rest of the diapers. I would write something like 'daddy's lil stinker' or 'world's greats mom' Have a great time.

I have three shower games on my computer that you can print on pink or blue paper if you know it's a girl or boy. Or, you could use yellow or light green if you don't know. If you send me your email address I can attach them into an email and send them to you. Beside those, there's the clothes pin game. As people are coming in the door, you give each one a clothes pin. From that point on they are not allowed to say the word "BABY". If someone hears someone else say "BABY" then they get to take all clothes pins they may have. This game usually goes through most of the shower. The person with the most clothes pins wins a prize. There's also the toilet paper game. After everyone gets there and the shower is about to begin, pass around a roll of toilet paper. Everyone tears off a piece of toilet paper they think will go around the pregnant mom. The person that comes the closest without going over wins. I could probably come up with more, but if you do more than five usually people are getting bored. Not only that but it takes a while to open all those gifts for baby! Send me a reply if you want me to email those others to you. Good Luck!

You could make-up a little 10 question quiz about the mom to be or have guest guess how big the mtb's belly is using some ribbon or toilet paper. There's baby bingo or you can scramble baby related words for guest to figure out with a time limit. Also, one shower I went to had us holding a bowl on our head with one hand while we scooped cotton balls from a second bowl on our laps with a spoon. I think this was supposed to signify how mom's have to constantly multi-task while doing a balancing act.
