I have found www.massvacation.com to be heplful. Just click on the part of Mass you want to explore and then you can narrow results by type of activities.
Play grounds or kiddie pools are a great idea!
I go to BostonParentsPaper.com and use their online calendar. It is filled with "things to do with kids in tow". It has been really helpful and hopefully you should fine so fun things to do with your girl. I also like going to farms. My daughter just stares and laughs at the animals.
