I have no idea what to get my husband for father's day. We have 2 boys, 6 & 2 1/2, & after gifts for every holiday & 6 father's days...I've run out of ideas. I can't order on-line due to not having a credit card, money is always tight, etc. He's a RAIDER's fan...hard to find anything but KU, Royals, & Chiefs stuff...what little I have found, I've bought. He likes to golf, hunt, anything outdoors... He's not really into receiving gifts but, is a huge giver! He's the best dad & a great husband. I really want to give him something that will make him feel our love and appreciation. HELP!! Any ideas?

What can I do next?

I have a couple of ideas: 1)If it's not too hard to get into Lawrence, you could try Sunfire Ceramics. My daughter painted her dad a coffee mug there for a birthday, and he really loves it. I didn't help at all except to hold it for her so she could paint toward the bottom. They are pretty reasonably priced....you see the price of the item your boys choose on the bottom, and these range from $3.00 up to huge platters & things that are way more expensive, but for a coffee mug it could be like 3-5, for something to hold golf tees or something, a similar price. Then you pay $4.00, which covers the price of all of the paint & equipment you use as well as firing & glazing. You'd probably want to get in today to be sure you had time to get it back. But it's fun & like I said, he loves it.
2) one year, when we had no cash & I couldn't think of anything, (when my daughter was 2), I found some old digital pictures of her and her dad doing things together & made a 'song book.' I'll say, she's always loved singing, so this worked for her & may not for others. But then I recorded her singing "you are my sunshine" and this little song we made up about her dad. Then on each page, there was a picture & some of the lyrics, and we used wrapping paper to 'bind' the book. Then I burned a CD of the video, so it was like a song book to accompany this CD, you know? Very sweet...we just pulled it out the other day, and it was even nice for me to see those pictures of them together.

Good luck!

I am heading to Hobby Lobby to buy wooden letters that spell Dad. Then I am going to take various pic with the kids holding the letters. Which ever ones come out best that I can spell DAD will go in a frame that holds 3 pictures. I am taking the pics myself and got a frame at Target! Whole thing less than $15!

Hi, J.! Could you put together a little scrapbook with your boys? You could take pics (or maybe you have some already) and have the 6 year old take some too and put them together in a little "Why we love you" book or "Why our dad is the greatest" or something along those lines. It would be a one of a kind!

Good luck! I always struggle with gifts for my husband too...

If you got to Kaboose they have some neat Father's Day crafts. We are going to make the coffee mug for him and some for the grandpa's.
Here is the link to the coffee mug idea.

Hello, I don't know if you have done thise or not, but I have done it since my husband isn't a fan of the local teams but the Broncos (please don't hate me) Last year I did a t-shirt for him with my 3 girls, we did a blue t-shirt w/orange craft paint (the cheap stuff from walmart or a craft store) and we put their foot prints on it with they saying at the top "Mile High Dad" because of course that goes with the Broncos and our theory on the feet were Miles are made up of feet. It would probably be inexepensive to do the paint is under .50 and the shirt just depends on what kind you get, ours was like $5 from Michaels. Good luck! J. If you would like some different craft type ideas let me know..I also run a daycare and we make stuff all the time.
