You forgot lace, but it is very expensive and delicate for a kid fair.
Maybe you can have them crochet a bracelet.
Hi Moms,
I need an idea for a craft. We are doing an international fair at school and I have the booth for Belgium. Some Belgian things are waffles, beer, fries, chocolate, the Smurfs and Tintin. I am thinking of doing a Smurf-themed craft but I am flexible. The constraints are that it has to be relatively inexpensive and quick to do, as there will be about 200 or more kids passing through. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
ETA: I already Googled "Smurfs crafts" but everything I found was too time consuming and too costly.

This is cute, and cheap!!

Are you selling these crafts? If so you can not do Smurfs. They are copywrited, registered trademarks ect. The fines are enormous.
Oops, I thought you meant 'sly'. lol
Google Belgium crafts and you'll find numerous sites for kids.
This sounds like a Girl Scouts Thinking Day project. You might check the Girl Scout website for projects. Thinking Day is where each group has a country and there is a quick craft each child does that is related to the country. Good-luck.
How about making chocolates using a brown model clay. the kids can shape them and put them on those mini cupcake/candy wrappers. you can also make homemade play dough to use instead of the model clay.
I'd just opt for a big marshmallow on a craft stick to dip in a chocolate fountain!
The Belgium carnivals are magnificent, Medieval aura brims.. I would try to incorporate a Carnival! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LvwTnuY2Ns
I went to my daughter's international night this year, and it was crazy! Loud and extremely crowded. Do you think you will even have the space for kids to do a craft?
I loved Bug's link to the Smurf plate. That seems pretty easy. You could also try handing out coloring sheets. Or find a few Smurf stamps and let the kids make a picture using the stamps. (Those stamps will likely disappear before long though.)
Good luck! Now you have me craving chocolate, fries (with mayo) and waffles.
