I am going through a nightmare of adult acne. So I went to a dermatologist and received some prescriptions. I am trying to deal with this but am impatient. My face is so oily lately my makeup won't stay on. Anyone have any suggestions on great skin care products to use or help?????

Thank you!

I am a BeautiControl Consultant and very satisfied with my BeautiControl products. I have tried a lot of the other lines and just have really not had the results I do here. I like the skin care and I love the color, It really only costs me a little more than other store brands makeup wise. Let me know if you are interested in learning more.

Mary Kay has an oil control lotion that you put on before you put on your foundation. As the name implies, it helps control the amount of oil produced on your skin. Be sure to cleanse your face in the morning and at night and put on an oil-free moisturizer. It seems counter-intuitive, but oily skin needs a moisturizer too or it will continue overproducing oil.

Oh my gosh, J., I am a customer of a company that sells all environmentally safe products. They have a line of skincare and makeup that are absolutely outstanding and very comparably priced to most other companies, about 30 percent less than department store prices though. They also have a line that is specifically for problem skin.
I would love to share with you more about the company. We're all customers referred by satisfied customers so if you're interested, just email me and I can get you more details. you'll be pleasantly surprised by what they have (actually about 400 products) all are great for the skin, the hair, your body, etc.
I don't personally sell the products just an extremely satisfied customer!!!

So anxious to share with you what I've found!!!

Proactiv, Proactiv, Proactiv! It really is amazing stuff! I went to dermatologists and nothing they gave me ever worked, but proactiv did, in just a couple of weeks.

Hey J.,
I see that you have gotten lots of recommendations on skin care solutions and I just have another one for you, but one you may have not heard of. The system is called Clear.now and to be honest I have not personally used it, but I have a friend who would not use anything else. Clear.now is actually similar to proactive but has actually been proven to break down oil better. It is a 3 step treatment system that has everything you need to break the cycle of breakouts. It utilizes patent-pending sodium chlorite combined with salicylic acid to keep pores clean, clear, and cared for. The salicylic acid helps clear acne blemishes while the sodium chlorite penetrates into the pores to eliminate bacteria-friendly oil. If this sounds like something you would like to give a try just let me know and I can get you more information. ###-###-#### This product also has a 6 month money back guarantee so the only risk is not trying it. I hope that you find something that works out for you and your skin because everyones skin is different. Take Care and God Bless

My friend has the same issues with her skin and she used Proactive for a while but then her skin like became resistant to it or something. However it did help clear up her skin and she also had a glow to her face. There is also a product called acne free which can be found at Wal-Mart, Target, or where ever, which is basically the generic version of proactive, i tried it and liked it. If you decide to use one of these products your skin may go through a drying period but that goes away with time. Good Luck

I am a consultant for The Body Shop @ Home, and we have an awesome tea tree oil line that is perfect for blemished or oily skin. It works using tea tree, which is a natural disinfectant, so your skin stays healthy & not dried out like many of the other products out there for acne. If you would like some free samples to try it & see if you like it please let me know- I'd be happy to send you some :-)

I myself struggled with the same thing. Mine was so bad they wanted to put me on Accutane but my insurance wouldn't cover it so I am currently on Cephalexin 1000mg a day and it has worked wonders!! I also started using Loreal mineral make up and it is so nice, no oily liquid, at least start with the make up and see how it goes.

I sell natural bath and beauty products through The Body Shop at home and the Tea Tree Oil line is great for oily skin, I would reccomend the facial blotting tissues and the mattifying moisture gel for helping your makeup go on and stay on better. I also have a great makeup line to offer. I'd be happy to share more info. or check out my website. I hope this helps!

Have you been to acne.org? Read the info there. It makes a lot of sense and there are lots of product suggestions and reviews. The thing I appreciate about it is even though they have a line of products, they have drug store alternatives you can try, too (although their product is not any more expensive). Give it a look.

I have used ProActiv for years and it really really helps!!! I use the deep cleansing wash rather than just the regular and it seems like it works better for my awful breakouts. Hope that helps! It is a little pricey, but they have a money back guarantee, so it's kind of a no-risk thing. I always got mine off QVC.com and it's a little big cheaper.

I've had acne on and off my whole life. You can tell when my hormones are screwing up cause I have problems. When I have problems I simply wash my face in the morning and night with Neutrogena clean bar of soap. My dermatologist always tells me that is the best. And you know what he is right. Doesn't feel dry or icky when I'm done. No horrid medicine stench and it's cheap. After that I spot treat with a Neutrogena rapid clear gel. It is suppose to reduce the site of inflammation within 8 hours and usually it does. Quite well! I do that until I get out of the acne funk again.

Here are a few tips I’ve found for hiding my problems. Red eye reducer, like Visine, you can put on a pimple that is very red and inflamed and the redness is reduced to the nth degree. Sometimes all together.

Oil blotting sheets are wonderful for taking the oil off your face and your makeup. But if you are oily like me you would go through packs a week to stay satin smooth. I found the greatest tip ever once online and it is sooooo true and works just as well. You know toilet seat covers that every bathroom in America has pretty much. They work just as well if not better half the time as the sheets you buy. So every time you use the restroom use one of those for going potty and grab another one and gently blot your face with it.

The other thing I do to control oil. I buy a translucent loose powder., not the kind packed in a compact. I dust that over my makeup with a large brush to set my makeup again and again throughout the day. Works wonders. Make sure it is oil free and won't clog pores though. Again that will take you back to satin smooth.

I know several people who use ProActiv & it works wonders! You can buy it at the mall, usually just the bigger ones but I'm sure one of the Omaha malls has a kiosk. Also my friend has a really oily face and she swears by those oil absorbing sheets. I know Clean & Clear have them, but I'm pretty sure there are many brands. Good Luck!

Oxy 10. Old fashioned and cheap--but it works.

Also, Ivory soap, the kind that floats. It really takes the oil out of your skin.

I've had a lot of the same problems over the last few years. About 3 years ago I started using BeautiControl products. No, I don't sell it, but I do know of many consultants. I use to use Clinique and loved using it, but it got pretty expensive over time and didn't last long. BeautiControl products can be a bit expensive too, however it last months longer than any other make-up I've used over the years. AND I don't break out from it.

I went to a party in a friend's home and then started having my own spa parties to earn 1/2 price and free products.

I've also tried Arbonne, but ended up break out from it. My husband's cousin sells it and is also now breaking out from some of it's products. I also know of many others who use it and are okay using it. It is much more expensive than other beauty products.

If you are interested in either, please let me know and I can give you some contact information.
