clean her house!!
Then maybe when she gets home, you can find out what kind of diet she will be on, and cook some meals for her and put them in the freezer!! I'm sure that would be something that she would totally appreciate.
Ususally for Mother's Day we get my MIL a card and some flowers. The problem is she just got out of the hospital and has tons of flowers everywhere (including from us). I just feel like giving her another vase of flowers would be pointless. She also has TONS of plants (she loves gardening). We really don't give gifts on Mother's day...just a card and flowers.
There's also not much she can do right now because of her medical condition, so a giftcard somewhere would probably get lost before she could use it, and I would cook for her, but we're not 100% sure what kind of diet her Dr. wants her to follow. Shes also pretty picky with things like clothes, perfumes, jewelry, etc. do any of you lovely ladies have any ideas on what we can give her?
Thanks so much in advance! =)
Thanks everyone. I can't clean, do her garden, etc becauuussseee...its all in perfect condition. My FIL doesn't sit around and keeps everything clean, orderly, etc. Even when she's in perfect health all of their chores are split, and trust me they would never let me help in that way (just how they are). I like teh idea of a photo album, but as bad as this sounds....she has more pictures of our daughter then we do (she takes about 50 every visit). She just has me stumped this year, lol. Thanks for the ideas. =)

Maybe take the family with an extra friend somewhere pretty and take a nice family photo, get it printed up and pick out a nice frame to put it in.
I would offer to do something for her - clean or walk her dog or something. You could also consider something like an Edible Arrangement (they are sooo tasty!) instead of flowers if the doctor approves. Or maybe get a picture frame that you can record your voices on and wish her a Happy Mother's Day! with a picture of the kids in it. Last year I found one at Bath and Bodyworks.
If she loves to garden, have the family come over and water and weed.
I did a photo album through shutterfly.com. Cheap awesome and so easy.
Why not go to her house, give the gift of time & elbow grease and get her garden whipped into shape for her?
Or what about a calendar made with family photos?
Does she have a special something (pic of her parents, heirloom textile, special heirloom pin, etc that you could have framed/shadowboxed for her?
picture of the grandkids in a frame. that's what we do for mother's day and father's day. it's simple, easy, a little cheesy but they always look forward to it. :)
