Try "Mavala Stop" at folica.com
I used it successfully for my older daughter. It's a clear nail polish with a very bad taste.
My 2 1/2 year old used to go to a babysitter and another child that went there was a nail biter, ever since that time she bites her nails so low that her fingers bleed. what can I do to break this habit.

There is a non-toxic nail paint called no-bite. It dries clear and stay on nails. It is absolutly disgusting to taste. get a bottle. I sugessted it to an adult nail biter, and after 20 some years of gnawing he got over it fast.
I'm ditto-ing the last person's response: I don't know what TO do, but if you do nothing, you're going to have a 38 year old daughter oneday who still bites her nails, and is EXTREMELY embarassed by it and looks horrible and is REALLY REALLY self conscious, but still can't stop, and feels inadequate around others. Don't just let it slide! Talk to your pediatritian and or seek a therapist. That's what they're there for. Behavior modification therapy can totally help. I honestly wish I'd done it, and wonder if it's "too late for me" to break this greusome habit!
try buying nail bitter stopper it contain ome spices and other things so the child wont bit their nails.
to the parents that suggested the nail biter stuff lets see you you put hot sauce & your fingers cause thats the base ingredient in Nail biters. Nail polish on the nails can help or just trim the nails to where they are hard to bite.
Hi, Go to the store and buy about 4 diffrent very bright bottles of nail polish. Make a big deal about taking her to the nail salon to get her toes (say toes first) and fingernails painted very pretty with some pretty designs. Then take her to a salon to let her look at all things going on there. Tell her next Friday (or whatever day) you and she are going to have a girls day of Beauty. Re-direct that nail biting to something wonderful. All week long tell her how excited you are, etc about going to get your toes and nails painted. In order for our children's behaviors to change, we Mothers have to change. I really hope this works...Let Me Know...
hi M.
there are nail polishers that taste like garlic.
You can try polishing your daughter's nails with one of those and I assure you that the flavor will be so awful she won't ever bite her nails again
hope it works!
UGH---I wish I knew....I have been a nail biter for 27 years! Good luck, and do your best to stop it before it becomes a real habit that she can't grow out of.
I believe they have a medicine to put on the fingers so that when you bite it tastes awful. Good Luck.
