Need Help with Wedding

I'm the same age as you are, with and 11 yo, 3yo, and one on the way. We got pregnant before our wedding but kept the date, so we've been married 12 years BUT I was mega-prego at the wedding. We got some help from our folks but did everything super cheaply.
The best advice i can give you is to take the help from well-meaning friends and amateurs. For a wedding planner: do you have a female friend, relative, or coworker who loves to plan parties, events, or is obsessed with weddings? She (or possibly he) might enjoy doing this for you. You won't get all of the services of a pro but it's usually more than enough to make it special.
Photography is really important because even the best looking wedding can look bad in pictures, and vice versa! You usually have the pics for a long time after the event. I hired a good friend who was studying photography to do my daughter's photos--she got stuff for her portfolio and experience, and I got a great deal. But you don't have to know anyone specifically, you can contact a local art school and ask for a referral to one of their students, or sometimes they will post the job opp for them. Even if you go with more experienced people, your best bet $ and quality is to use a freelancer.
Food you can save on by using catering services of a local deli or even grocery store deli. Liquor can be a pay bar if you want to provide alcohol but can't afford to set everybody up. Caveat though: you really should pay for at least one drink for anyone who stands up with you or donates any services to you.

Flowers, real or silk? You save a ton with silk but NOT the same experience. If you're willing to be flexible in your choices, a good florist will recommend what flowers will be least expensive at the time of your ceremony. Some blooms cost more in November vs April, for example.

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. I'm new to the area so i don't know any wedding planners, but it is an expense worth skipping--there's SO much information out there that you really can do it with a little help from your friends.

Have you considered doing a wedding package? The radisson on Rockland has a package so it takes all of the work out for you. The price was reasonable compared to everywhere else. how about a destination wedding? just you and close family and friends. you could even rent a beach house and have it there

I was recently married in November. We were very lucky in that my parent's helped to pay for a lot of the wedding. However my husband and I paid for quite a bit of the expenses. For the reception we used a lot of candles. They were inexpensive and looked beautiful. You can save a ton by getting your wedding cake and flowers at a grocery store. A lot of times you can find some great centerpiece ideas at the Christmas Tree Shops. I would highly recommend using The Knot's talk pages for ideas and local resources! Good luck and congratulations!
