Need Ideas for an Anniversary Gift

Hello. Since everyone on here has such great ideas, I thought I would ask....Our 7 year anniversary is this Friday, Nov. 9th and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for an unique meaningful gift to give my husband. Unfortunately, we are on a very tight budget (case of our paychecks remaining the same while everything else goes up! - enough to make you scream) so while I want it to be a special gift it has to be relatively inexpensive. Your ideas are very much appreciated!!!

What can I do next?

Special "coupons" are always fun.. like a free massage.. or breakfast in bed... those are pretty inexpensive and fun.

Whip out your inner stripper and do a dance for him! If you are clueless about it, just put on your favorite tune and writhe seductively in front of him. Furthermore, this is a great time to find a cheap sexy costume for fantasy play. Also, I agree with others about a massage. I bought a massage table and it is one of our fave things. After a hard day, there is nothing like getting your muscles rubbed or even just a little foot massage. For something more PG, perhaps you can go to walmart or someplace cheap to get family portraits done. Good luck.

If you have relatives or a reliable friend, have your girls sleep over at another house. Cook a dinner and have it romantically over candle light. Be sure to have dessert...or buy a nice dessert and feed it to each other. For a gift, buy a nice picture frame and develop an old photo that is sentimental or carries good memory for the both of you and put that in a frame. You can also go out to dinner just the two of you without the kids. Give each other a nice massage at home. Think of something sexy and it'll be special for him. Best to you.

Hi Stephanie,

I think a nice date (dinner, dancing, movie or whatever y'all may enjoy) is always a GREAT gift. You mentioned you have two girls,so I know you two don't spend all the time you'd like to with each other. My husband and I have been married for six years and we have 2 kids and we are always looking for an extra hour or two (alone) to just go to the movies or to dinner. We were high school sweethearts so we dated for a long time beofer we married and we did all the fancy gifts and presents stuff. Not to say presents aren't sometimes good, but these days presence is more important. I hope this helps and Have a HAPPY Anniversary!

Our 6 year anniversary is on the same day! I am in the same boat (no money, want to give something really special). So far, all I have been able to come up with is to take his wedding band to have something engraved inside, but I don't know what to write yet.

Hi, Stephanie. I don't know if you'll have enough time, but I once made a photo album beginning with our wedding day through pix of the children through the years. The last page, I wrote a letter telling him how blessed I was to have him in my life. He said it was the best gift he'd ever recieved.
Hope this helps.

We rarely exchange gifts on our anniversary, usually for the same reasons that you have stated above. On our 7th anniversary, we were extremely poor, and I don't even remember what we did, but for this past 13th anniversary, we went and ordered matching rings. As the years pass, you will be able to do nicer things for each other like that. If you can't afford to go out to dinner, you could maybe find a babysitter for your children and just have a nice dinner at home that you make yourself. If he is like most men, he will enjoy a nice dinner as much as anything, and the time alone with you.

I really don't mean for this to sound unsavory LOL... but if he is like most men, he would be super happy with some spice in the bedroom...best thing is that is free LOL...

Maybe spend gift money on a babysitter for a few hours, light some candles and throw in something he asks for often but you don't get to do...

Happy Anniversary!

Well you could write him a love letter or naughty. Then make him a dinner and have a nite to yourselves. Or you could make a chocolate covered Strawberries then you could use some of that chocolate for something else. You can buy some oils and a cheap massager and give him a great massage. Okay that's all I have...
Happy Anniversary

I agree with a couple of the previous posts - men are all about their appetites. If you can, trade or negotiate some alone time (guaranteed alone) and spend some time just focused on each other. As his wife, you know what meal he really likes or recreate an old (exciting) memory with food and ambiance. I remember spending one anniversary this way: we stopped at McDonald's and bought two burgers, one fry and one coke and then went to the beach to watch the sunset. *laughing* that was recreating our wedding day! It wasn't about a gift or money - it was about why we got married in the first place, because we liked each other! Look for songs from the year you got married, find old photos of you two as newlyweds, just remind each other why you got married 7 years ago ;)

walmart has scrap books that are just blank pages binded together for about $6-14. you can get one and put pictures of you guys, write memories, put old cards, anything meaningful that can be pasted. Tell him how much you love him, how much you've enjoyed life so far, and plans for the future. It;s really cheese, but if he's a sentimental type, he'll love it. If not, sending the kids to a family members, cooking him dinner, putting on adult only evening wear, and acting like two adults without children....either way, he should feel loved and appreciated.

Okay I did this one year for my husbands birthday and he loved it. It didn't require money just some post cards are computer paper or whatever you have. Since its on Friday and I'm sure you guys go to work you could start the day off with a envelope in the morning (or mailing it off now so it will get to his job on Friday) with a hand written or typed letter that says something like ROSES are RED VIOLETS are blue TODAY is a SPECIAL DAY FOR ME AND YOU meet me at the address (whatever your home address is) at time. Then you would put one on the garage door or front door that says a little poem that will send him to either the dinner table or the tub.(Candlelight home-made dinner for 2 or candelight bath for 2)The next card will say something for the opposite item you just used (bath or dinner.)And then you will either put one on the back of the bathroom door or on top of the dessert encouraging him to go to the bedroom for a romantic massage with jazz or whatever music you prefer leading to a adult night. If you have the kids at home you can work around their bedtime or whatever works best for you. My husband loved it he kept wondering what was next and of course you didn't spend much money for purchasing dinner and candles if you have to purchase that. It's worth it!

My four year anniversary is this thursday. So on saturday I'm going to suprise my husband with a tour of Minute Maid park (he's a huge astros fan) and then take him to central market to get some fancy snacks and then we'll go to the water wall by the galleria where we had one of our first dates and have a little picnic on the lawn. The tour of Minute Maid is 20$ for both of us.

There are some really great ideas on here! Here is one that i have done a couple of times. We have a digital camera that has a timed setting to go off in 10 seconds. So, i put on some lingerie and took my own modeling pics. Nothing nasty, just something fun and simple. If you are self conscious of how you look, dim the lights a little when you take the pictures. Give them to him over a romantic picnic in your bedroom. I wrote a sweet little note in the card that i put the pictures in. I also printed the pictures in the privacy of my own home. I take a few every now and then for his birthday or valentines day and he says it never gets old and it's the best gift he's ever had. Anyway, hope this helps. Happy Anniversary!!!!

www.personalizationmall.com.

Everything on that site is very reasonably priced. You can upload your favorite picture of you two(or your family) and put a poem or quote over it. Google,"anniversary quotes". I did this for my husband on Fathers Day. I used a picture of him and our son and its his favorite picture. :)
