Need MALE Teacher Gift Ideas

I decided to post a separate request, in addition to the update on my original. I've narrowed my gift giving down to two teachers for my son this year. He has a lengthy support team at school and due to finances and IEP battling I was hesitant to give Christmas gifts to each member of his team, as I've done in the past. I'm now in need of some good gift selections for male teachers. His general education teacher is 32, married with two 1/2 children (baby #3 on the way). His LRC teacher is 43ish...single and has been his LRC teacher for 5 years. Any suggestions what to get for these two men?? I will also be giving something to my daughters, FEMALE teacher.
Thank you.
M. M

I have 4 teachers to buy for I feel your pain. Here is a great idea that wont go wrong... Go to Big Lots and buy Christmas Tins they are 2 dollars. Go to a store and buy small pretzels, rolos ( candy) and walnuts. You can make turtles out of them. Put the rolo on the pretzels and microwave them for 15 secs. Until the cochalte gets soft. Then press the walnuts into them. Viola you have a turtle. You can also buy butterscotch chocolate chips, a bag of mini marshmellows and a things of those chinese noodles the crunchy ones that you top your meanls with. Microwave the chips until melted add marshmellows and noodles ( chow mein noodles) and stir then scoop spoonfuls out onto wax paper to dry. They are awesome you will have to buy mini cupcake papers to put these in. Men love food but it is a universal gift that anyone will ove. You can also make chocolate covered pretzels. It is a fun and fast thing to do with the kids...

Have you considered giving a gift for the classroom? Supplies or toys or something? I got a letter from my son's teachers last year asking for parents to not send personal gifts to teachers they would much rather have a classroom gift or a gift card to purchase classroom items. That might be the best decision for all your child's teachers seening as you are upset with some of them. From what I understand from teachers that I know personally, they would prefer this. How many sented candles and tubes of hand cream does one person need is what they have said. Special Ed teachers especially could use extra supplies, given the wide range of abilities of the kids they deal with. It's nice to have new tools to teach with. Have a great Holiday what ever you decide!

I stick with my suggestion from the other topic. Homemade caramel corn is a simple, yet thoughtful gift. And everyone knows a guy loves a good snack.:)

Hi M.,

I found some great stuff at www.caseyscache.com. They have sections for golf & fishing and sports, so you might find something there. They're also offering a discount to Mamasource members (use code 1fb229 (from the business review section here)). Hope this helps!

Both my boys have special needs and I never gave the whole team gifts. They are now almost 13 and 15 who is in high school. In the past couple years for his TC i gave her gift certificates once the coffee shop she loves going to and the other year for Applebees. She is who keeps our lifes together so I made sure to do something very nice for her. The aide got a mini rose bush. If you know he picks up coffee somewhere or eats at a special place you can do that. FOr Men it is tricky. Gift certificates are the best for men. I am ownere of a special need group and if you would like to join email me offlist and I will send you a invite. Most of the women are in Michigan. Just let me know..

I was going to suggest gift cards...............that way they can get things they need or if you know a restaurant they like. Otherwise something like a Target gift card goes a long way
