Need Moms to Hang Out With

I have a friend in North Bend, Oregon with a 2-year-old and 5-year-old. She would like suggestions about where to hang out with other moms for playtime with the kiddos (park?) and maybe some fun exercise buddies who understand the kid situation.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I've recommended this site, but not sure she's signed up yet, or will, so I'm asking for her.

Thanks all!!

What can I do next?

Suggestion: Re-ask your question with North Bend, Oregon in the title. You might get more locals.

Library, parks, sign up for a kids gym or music class. Neighbors with kids.
Needs to put herself out there.

meetup.com

She can search the area and type of group she is interested in getting together with. For example, "stay at home moms of toddlers and preschoolers" or "exercise group with kids." She will find groups and send a request to join. It usually costs a small fee per year (I pay $5 every six months for my group. Another group I considered joining was $25 per year). Once she joins they will send her an e-mail every time the group gets together. It has been a lifesaver for me!

I would check out the site meetup.com

I would then check with my pediatricians office to see if they have a mom's group that they sponsor or support.

Then I would go to the YMCA, library (they have kid reading programs) and just start chatting up other mom's at the park.

Hope she finds what she is looking for!!

I would recommend the library during kids' reading time and the park.

Two great, easy places.

If she's shy or doesn't like big groups, then meetup probably won't be a good idea for her. Groups of moms that already know each other can be cliquey, whether or not they're doing it intentionally.

If she is more of a small group/one on one type of person, then she just needs to put herself out there and be friendly. I've met many mom friends that route.
