My partner and I decided to throw our son and daughter a combined birthday party (our daughter will turn 3 and our son 1). We were originally going to do it at our house on April 10th and rent a inflatable, but because the weather can be so unpredictable in Texas we are thinking we should have the party somewhere else. I just have no idea where else we could do a combined birthday? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

What can I do next?

Okay, this may be a dumb response, because even as I'm typing it, I'm not sure I'd do it...but here goes...I was thinking if you got a covered inflatable such as a bounce house instead of a slide thing, you could still use it if it rains couldn't you?? The only problem would be getting the kids to and from if it is raining really hard, but you probably wouldn't have much of an issue once kids were inside b/c they'd have to take their shoes off anyway.

Also, how big is your house? Could you just do something indoors? You could come up with a theme that would please both age groups and go from there...some ideas might be balloons, pizza, farm animals, etc. One year olds won't do much except run around and play with toys anyway, so there would be no need to make up games or activities for them.

My last theme idea, although this one also depends on the weather unless you have a garage, is bubbles. Both groups of kids would love bubbles! At my daughter's parties I always put out two huge rubbermaid tubs (clear and low to the ground) filled with simply Joy liquid soap and water. Fill it with household objects, anything that has a hole...strainers, slotted spoons, six pack holders, lids, string tied in a circle, etc. The holes don't even have to be round, the bubbles will always come out that way though.

Good luck!

I don't know if you have this in Texas, but we have a place called "Pump it Up" and it is a place filled with inflatables! You can have the whole party there, along with food and cake! No cleanup before or after!

I just had my dtr's 4th bday party at BounceU. We did it last year for her 3rd as well. We had children from 8m to 14 yrs old there and everyone had a blast. It was a pj party with cake and ice cream sundaes. It has huge bounce houses and bounce slides. I think it's similar to what Chantel mentioned below. So worth the money...it's indoors with AC, lots of fun...no cleanup. The kids have a blast and get worn out.

Boomerangs is great! They have a room full of full size inflatables and they have a toddler area which is really fun for the younger one. They also have an arcade areas & they can earn tickets and get prizes like at Chuck E Cheese. They have private party rooms for the party.

The Little Gym? Their parties are great for younger kids (4 and under). The kids can play on all of the equipment, or bounce/ chase balls during the free play time. They have a large parachute that they play with and inflatable trampoline. My kids have always enjoyed parties there!
